Beautiful walk at Slitting Mill. It’s called The Well Being trail. It certainly brings Joy to me and my dogs. ❤️

With the icy weather conditions we’re experiencing please remember to wash off your dogs paws if walking the pavements and crossing roads.

Road Salt!

Salt can definitely be harmful to a dog's paws. While it may be effective at melting ice and snow, the rough crystals can be painful and even cut into a dog's paw pads.

Additionally, prolonged or repeated exposure to salt can cause dryness, cracking, and even burns on a dog's paws.

So, while salt can be helpful in some ways, it's important to be mindful of its potential impact on your dog's paws.

It's a good idea to rinse your dog's paws with warm water after they've been exposed to salt, and to monitor them for any signs of irritation or discomfort.

"Why must we love animals? Because they give us everything without asking for anything, because they are defenseless against the power of man, because they are eternal children, because they don't know what hate or war is. Because they don't know money and they they are satisfied only with a place to take refuge from the cold. Because they make themselves understood without saying a word, because their gaze is as pure as their soul. Because they do not know envy or rancor, because forgiveness is still natural in them. Because they know love with loyalty and fidelity, because they live without having a luxurious home. Because they don't buy love, they simply wait for it and because they are companions, eternal friends that nothing can separate, because they are alive. For this and for a thousand other things they deserve our love.
