As we near the end of the week (and the weekend is just around the corner 👀), we thought we'd share a case study about one of our wonderful patients, Mia 🐶
At Park House Vets, we're dedicated to providing cutting-edge veterinary care for your pets. One way we do this is through our regenerative medicine services, which use the body's own cells to help tissues regenerate.
Now it's time to introduce Mia! Mia suffered from forelimb lameness, and after CT and ultrasound imaging, we discovered a supraspinatous tendon injury.
Mia received both Stem Cell Therapy and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy.
🩸PRP utilizes an animal's own platelets to aid in tissue repair; platelets contain growth factors crucial for healing.
💉Stem cell therapy utilizes pure stem cells, which can differentiate into any tissue type, for example, cartilage or ligament, depending on the environment they are placed.
Both of these treatment types involve collection from the animal's blood/bone marrow to provide a sample for injection. They can help with conditions such as arthritis, acute and chronic soft tissue injuries, ligament trauma, tendon damage and certain spinal conditions.
Mia's improvement was noticeable within days of her first injection. The video shows Mia struggling with walking before treatment and then feeling much more comfortable after treatment, enjoying her favorite place... the beach! ⛱️🐾
We're excited to offer these regenerative services at Park House Vets. Have questions about PRP or stem cell therapy? Contact us today! Visit our website for more details on Mia's case and our other services.
