Event| Adult Social Care Carers Forum: Re-launch invitation

➡️ Friday 22nd November 2024

📍 Staffordshire Place 1, Tipping Street, Stafford.
The parent/carer led Forum is refreshing its approach and looking for new members. It invites any parent or carer of an adult with a learning disability and/or autism who is receiving a Care Service in Staffordshire to join them and work with the council to make positive changes.

🥾Join us for a creative explore of Tucklesholme Nature Reserve. We'll pass out paper and clipboards before participants choose what art materials they'd like to use. We provide some prompts, but you can choose your own subjects to draw and doodle, too

‼️ AIMING HIGH ‼️

We are pleased to inform you that Stoke City Community Trust are holding their Ability Counts sessions in a brand-new location.

In addition to their current sessions in Cheadle, Rugeley and Chesterton, Stoke City Community Trust will hold Ability Counts sessions at the Alleynes Sports Centre, Stone, every Monday evening from 5-7pm starting from Monday 3rd June 2024. ⚽️

Children must live in South Staffordshire, Stafford or Cannock to be eligible. 🏠

To book your place, please call the booking team on 0300 111 8007 (option 2, then option 3). Lines are open weekdays, 9am-5pm. ☎️

**Supported Internship Opportunities for Young people with an Education Health and Care Plan**

If you know a young person ready to make the step towards employment please encourage them to apply.

Applicants should:
- Have a current EHCP
- Be 17-24 years old
- Be a resident of Staffordshire County Council
- Have the desire and motivation to achieve paid employment
- Be able to travel independently or willing to learn independent travel skills.

A typical day includes:
- 9:00 to 10:00: Classroom learning focused on employability skills.
- 10:00 to 15:30: Interns go to work in their placements, supported by a job coach.
- 15:30 to 16:00: Classroom time to reflect on
the day’s activities.
