Looking after pets and dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and temprements. With previous experience of working in rescue kennels and boarding kennels, All About The Dogs ori
ginally started walking dogs as a part time job in Salford and surrounding areas that worked around our university studies. This quickly developed into a big part of our lives that we were very dedicated to and passionate about! After three successful years we cared for over 30 dogs and had a bit of a reputation for walking a mixture of very small to very large dogs, young to old, playful to reserved, pups to rescues, groups or solo, we loved them all dearly. We sadly closed in the Salford area due to relocation. Since then our skills have developed through working in different animal departments, learning more animal behaviour including basic training dog schools. For the last two years one of our members has worked in group basic training for a well-known dog school, teaching a wide variety of breeds and ages, as well as offering support and advice to owners with more complex dog behaviour needs. Due to our massive love for all pets and of course dogs, All About The Dogs has reopened in the Stafford area, our new location for dog walking, pet drop ins and pet sitting services. We want to help you with your loved furry family members so that you can relax when you are away or at work, knowing they are in safe hands having a great time! With our dog walks we can offer group or solo walks if your dog feels more relaxed with a quieter walk away from others. Thanks to all our current doggy friends and their families for getting us this far, we are already rapidly growing and very excited for the future of All About The Dogs! As well as our walks, house sits or drop ins, we are also happy to help with training advice and we are excited to soon be expanding to be able to offer training services! ✨OUR JULY GROUP COURSE GRADUATES✨
Massive congratulations to 🐶Ronnie, 🐶Smokie and 🐶Betty for completing their July group basic training course! (And their hardworking owners of course!)

These guys absolutely smashed it! Each dog and owner came with their own specific goals they’d like to reach by the end of the course, whether it was to build confidence, work on distractions or over excitement around other people and dogs, build a stronger bond and just to be confident in knowing the right methods and techniques that work for them and their dogs.
Each week these guys worked incredibly hard not only in class, but during the week working on their homework! You could absolutely tell the work that they would put in to be ready for the next week. I was so excited to see where they would all progress to each week 👏🏼
So proud of these guys and how far they progressed in just 5 weeks. From week one, working behind a barrier and struggling to keep focus whilst they settled into the new strange environment, to week 5, no barriers at all and walking and recalling around the room 🥹
I can’t wait to see your on-going progress in our progression classes 😍

We have made some changes to our group course dates.
Due to a high number of 1:1 requests and requests for July and August group courses, we have moved our July course forward by 2 weeks. Therefore if you weren’t sure if you could attend the previous July dates, you may want to check again now the dates have been updated. Times may have also changed 🙌🏼
✨Our new course will start on the 11th July. We already have limited spaces, so be sure to book quick to avoid disappointment!

✨I have exciting news!✨
Firstly, I’d like to say thank you so much to everyone who came to my taster classes whilst I was practicing for my final practical training exams, I ran 4 group training classes in April and I honestly had so much fun! Everyone and their pups did so well and you were all a pleasure to teach🐕
📸I would also like to say a massive thank you to for all of your help with filming and taking such lovely footage and pictures for my clients as always when I was running the training classes, you worked so hard and I can’t thank you enough!
I am very happy to announce that I passed all my assessments and received full marks on the day of practical and oral, therefore I am now an official member of the APDT (association of pet dog training) 🎉
This has been something that I’ve had in the works for literal YEARS! I wanted to complete this whilst I was working as a dog trainer with Dogs Trust, however life took a different route and I’m so glad that I’ve now had the time to complete it! Unfortunately you don’t have to be qualified to be a dog trainer in the UK, but I fully believe you should be, which is why I have been waiting to officially open my training services to the public and not just helping my current clients.
So with that being said, we are expanding our services! 🎉
There is so much in the pipeline, so stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more announcements over the next couple of weeks with lots of exciting things starting in June! Things to look out for:

🐾FUN FACT:
When it rains our dogs sense of smell becomes stronger. This is because the moisture amplifies scent and makes it last longer. They can even smell the rain in the air before it actually start! The rain can reveal a whole new world of sensory delights for our dogs.
We may not always enjoy it, but at least they enjoy their extra sniffs!🐽🐶

Betty and Elsie are 5 month old boxer pups. I can’t believe how much they’ve grown already! They are such a joy to walk and train. They are certainly never boring! We’ve been making great progress in our walks and in our 121 training sessions with their owners.
I can’t wait to see what wonderful dogs these two grow up to be 🥹

We are halfway through the week, a rather cold week for us! We’ve been enjoying lots of crisp, fresh walks this week, but the sun is still shining and a bit of cold never stops us having the best walks each day☀️

Rio and Dave absolutely love their walks together, always so happy to see each other (to be fair Dave is happy to see everyone) and always ready to go for an adventure wherever they are. Just melt my heart, especially with poses like this 🥹
🐾We love all our little group walks and finding the perfect matches to suit every individual dogs need for the most enjoyable walk experience.
🐶Smaller groups mean there’s more focus and attention for each dog, less overwhelming excitement and chaos that could lead to future behaviour issues, over stimulation or injury. They allow for more training opportunities, providing physical and mental stimulation, increasing calmer behaviours around other dogs and their environment and to be around well suited dogs where your dog can simply relax, feel comfortable, have a sniff, safety play and most important of all, enjoy their walk. 🦮

✨Group walk recall✨ A great recall is the MOST important skill to have when being off-lead, or even on a long lead. We do not let any dog off lead if they do not have a recall. Simple. Even if a dog has great recall, we will spend the time to build our own bonds with the dogs and build the recall to ourselves to ensure all dogs will respond if and when we let them off lead. Just because a dog might respond to recall with their owners, doesn’t automatically mean they will for their walker. Each behaviour should be built up with every new person and not just be a given or expected. You may think this is a bit over the top, but did you know it is actually against the law to have a dog off lead if it doesn’t come back to you? It could be the friendliest dog in the world, but it would still be classed as an uncontrollable dog. Not only that, there are countless of things that could go wrong that could ruin how your dog interacts with its environment and others, as well as affecting other dogs and their owners. We will always start with lead walks, build our connection and responses to name and the ‘easier’ skills such a sit, down, maybe a cheeky paw etc in easy and building to more distracting environments. If this is going well, we will start our recall responses using short leads. After a period of time we may introduce a long line to a harness, or extendable lead, but always a long line before any off lead activities as these give the most realistic feeling of being off lead for the dog. We will build the recall using a long-line, giving more length when successful, making it easier if it’s too difficult or in distracting areas. Eventually when the recall is 100%, we may drop the long-line and then remove it all together being able to let the dog off lead in safe and appropriate places. We work on this with each dog individually if it’s appropriate for that dog’s walk. If the dog is walked in a group, the process starts all over again. *captio
