Note to self: remember to order in some heart bars the right size next time 😂

After realising that I had ordered the wrong size heart bars, I gave my head a scratch and came up with an on the job fabrication. Heart breaking to sacrifice a good clenching rasp but I’m sure this little lad will appreciate it 😄

Notice to clients!
On the 14th of October I will be away on holiday for 2 weeks. I will not be back at work intill Monday the 30th.
I have booked the majority of my clients back in for before I go away and the week I get back. If you have not yet booked in and your horse is due in this time period please get in touch and I will organise a date in the diary for you.
I will have someone to cover me while I’m away but please be aware this will only be for emergencies and lost shoes!

A hoof wall crack that I have been dealing with. The first time I addressed this crack was the 28th of September last year. An acrylic patch was applied to stabilise the crack.
It takes an average of 12 months for the hoof wall to grow from the coronary band down to the ground.
Keeping this horse on a strict 5 week shoeing cycle and stabilising the crack has allowed it have completely grown out 🤩

A pair of hind heart bars done yesterday on a horse that has low underrun heels. The heart bar will help to relieve pressure off the heels and weight share on to the frog. Helping to generate some stronger heel growth.

This horse has very weak shelly feet. He previously had white line disease and was prone to developing abscesses.
He’s currently in flat 3D frog support pads.
The frog support helps to load pressure off the dorsal hoof wall and weight share onto the frog. It also increases blood circulation, therefore increasing nutrients within the blood to the laminae/ hoof wall.
The full pad provides protection from any foreign objects or gravel entering the sole, white line and hoof wall, therefore preventing abscesses.
The soft dental impression material is mixed with copper sulphate to help keep the sole and frog clean and healthy, as well as providing a soft cussoning platform for the thin soles on this horse.

NOTICE TO CLIENTS
As of the 1st of January I will be making a change to how the business is run.

Due to constantly having to chase payments on a weekend In my spare time, I will no longer be allowing bacs payments to be made after shoeing.

I do not provide a credit service!
Therefore payment must be made on the day of the appointment.

I will still be accepting cash which is a preferred method of payment.
I will now be accepting Apple Pay and card payments.
Bacs payments must be made when present upon completion of shoeing!
If you cannot be present at the appointment cash must be left somewhere safe for me to collect or bacs payment must be made prior to appointment.
