Today we meet Frank as he’s fitted for his first pair of wheels
Taking the time yesterday to very calmy and gently introduce new puppy Yara to the treadmill.
Obviously at just 8 weeks she's a long way off starting any treadmill sessions, but her big sister Fezz comes along every week so she will be joining us, getting accustomed to the environment and learning that treadmill = treats, fun and cuddles.
This means if she ever needs rehab she won't find the process stressful and the program can be executed effectively to get the best results.
Early, positive experiences make a huge difference to the development of your puppies, well -managed, early socialisation is the key to a happy & well rounded adult dog.
In April when he started sessions he was tetraplegic due to necrotising meningoencephalitis ... now he can balance himself in a sit, he tries to get up to chase flies and basically, in an all round sense, is much happier. His condition is degenerative and life threatening but look at this little lad go 💜
We love what we do.
**normally all dogs in the water would wear a harness but his small size and odd shape mean any aids really restrict his forelimb movement so we choose to work without in this case**
Caroline & Disco Dave letting us know how they feel about their sessions 🤣
The tiny kitten we've been fostering for two weeks is showing signs of improvement each day.
His story isn't fully understood, we just know that his forelimbs have developed abnormally and we need to try and help him develop the best possible function we can.
Here he is in the video reacting with natural behaviours to some basic stimulus. By encouraging natural behaviours we're encouraging active stretching and conscious fine motor skills to occur, which will lay the foundations for the work to come.

Fezz 💜
Fezz had a setback, picking up a psoas strain. It was spotted early and along with her owner Sam we utilised rest and gentle **active** stretching in the treadmill to gradually return her to fitness.
Shes looking fabulous here.
A snippet of BBs session from last week .. BB likes to hold a toy whilst she works. A beautiful GSD with no current diagnosed injuries or conditions, her owners use water treadmill with us as a means of prevention rather than cure, so the goals are to keep her strong and well balanced.
