Today, we had the pleasure of meeting gorgeous Bambi who visited the salon for a bath and dry. Bambi belongs to one of our learners who attends Short Bark N Sides for his internal work placement. This opportunity allows our learner to have hands-on experience with his own furbaby in a dog grooming environment. Bambi was an absolute sweetheart. ###🥰 🫧🐶🐾

Today at Short Bark N Sides, our learners discussed World Mental Health Day and how dogs can help people of any age with mental health by creating a poster.
World Mental Health Day is raising awareness of mental health issues around the world. Mental health awareness is an initiative to improve understanding of mental health conditions and increase access to health care for those who need it.
Studies have shown that dogs reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Dogs ease loneliness, encourage exercise, and improve health. ###❤️🐾🐶

Gorgeous boy Merlin came to the salon today for his regular pamper and groom✂️🫧. Merlin loves nothing more than to lie down throughout his groom...a work out for me today🤦‍♀️😂. A two hair do look for Merlin tufti head fur up or sleek back...gorgeous either way. Lots of cuddles given, Merlin is such the sweetest, gentle boy.###🥰✂️🫧🐶🐾

We had the pleasure of two of our regular fur-babies visit the salon Lily and Valencia✂️🫧. Now, both one year old, they both take the grooms in their stride, although gorgeous Lily is still not a fan at getting dried!

A great start to our new academic year at Short Bark N Sides 😀

🐾Why are we different?🐾

Through Works4U Specialist College Short Bark N Sides opened not only for our local community to provide a dog grooming service for all our local fur- babies but also to provide a place for young people at our Specialist College to gain skills and knowledge working in the animal industry.

Our students are guided and supervised by a fully qualified dog groomer, teaching them the basic skills in dog grooming assistance but also helping to develop their confidence, interaction, communication, and social skills.

Welcome to our new learners who have made a great start in the salon helping and assisting with the grooms . 🌟🐾🐶✂️🫧

I've had these gorgeous furbabies visit the salon this week. 😍
Little old lady Penny came in for her regular pamper and groom🫧✂️. Looking very cute and all ready for her holidays! 🥰✂️🫧🐾🐶.
I've had the pleasure of meeting sweet 10mth old Dave a Pocket Bully. This was his first time in a dog grooming salon for a pamper🫧. Although a little nervous, he took it all in his stride! Such a sweetheart.🥰
His brother Oscar attended, too, his first time with us. Oscar is a Pug- cavalier X ,a gorgeous, sweet, playful boy! 🫧🥰🐾🐶

Little old man Dexter visited the salon today. Dexter has not been 100%, and now, on the better side, a pamper and spruce up was needed🫧✂️. He may be on the older side, but such a little wriggle bum🤣. Dexter, you kept me on my toes, little man! ###🥰😂✂️🫧🐶🐾

I had the pleasure of meeting Laila today. It was her first visit to the salon. Laila's hooman mummy likes her to be short. Laila is a Pomeranian and, as a rule, should not be clipped or shaved. However, as this has been done in the previous grooms, this needs to continue due to the fur not growing back properly. Laila was an absolute joy, a sweet, beautiful natured little lady!
