*ADOPTED*

Meet Loki, a giant breed German Shepherd whose size and weight far exceed that of an average German Shepherd. At five years old, Loki is the perfect blend of playful energy and relaxed companionship. His playful nature shines through, especially when there's a ball in sight—he's incredibly ball-motivated and will happily chase after one for hours. Loki is also a loving and protective companion, always loyal to his family and ready to watch over them.

Brought to the rescue through no fault of his own, Loki is looking for a forever home where he can be the center of attention. He cannot live with cats, small dogs, or children under the age of 15. If you have space in your heart and home for a gentle giant who will bring endless joy and security, Loki is the dog for you.

Message us for more information about how to adopt Loki.

On Friday we welcomed Loki.

Loki came to us on the 12th of April as an emergency placement from police kennels. He was due to be put to sleep that morning.

Not much was known about Loki when he first came to us, but we’ve found that he is extremely well mannered and friendly with people and other dogs.

On the 11th of December we decided to take in a dog who was being rehomed, for a very low price, due to being pregnant. Originally, we took her in with the intention of finding her a forever home, where she wouldn’t be used for profit, after being spayed. The pups would have also been rehomed through rescue.

We quickly fell in love with her & decided to adopt her ourselves, where she has been our permanent shadow. Trusting us enough to be around her pups after only knowing us for 2 weeks.

On the 26/12/2023, she went into labour and had litter of 10. Unfortunately, after a few hours we noticed one of them to be ill and was subsequently rushed to an emergency vet. Despite everyone’s best efforts, the next morning he sadly passed on.

The following few weeks went smoothly and mum and pups were all healthy and doing well. They had their eyes open by 2 and a half weeks and their ears opened shortly after. They enjoyed socialising with each other and socialising with us. Everyday they were getting stronger and were showing more of their personalities.

Unfortunately this morning we noticed some of the pups behaving very strangely. As we were phoning vets to get the litter booked in their health quickly started to deteriorate, some of them stopped breathing while we were on the phone and despite our best efforts we could not revive them. After exhausting our full list of vets we were finally able to find one that was able to see them. However this was not before we lost 4 of the 9 puppies.

Upon arriving at the vet, one of the pups had deteriorated too much and the kindest option was euthanasia. The remaining 4 puppies have now been hospitalised and are spending some time at the vet hospital in intensive care.

Aswell as a devastating day, we are left with a bill of £1,675, and this is without further treatment and cremation costs and transportation costs. We are heartbroken at the pups we have lost, but we hope that we can save the remaining 4.

If you wish to donate towards the cost of the treatment of the pups and the cremation our PayPal is linked below.

Tennis balls are not safe around these two. 😂

Yoda has been adopted.
Luca is unavailable for adoption due to behavioural issues.

When Yoda (Lab) first arrived in our care he was extremely nervous, he didn’t really pay much attention to the other dogs.
When Luca (Mastiff cross) arrived in our care he was dog reactive, and was unable to be with any other dogs. In a few months of consistent work Luca can now be around Yoda with supervision.

Meet Yoda.

Yoda came into our care on Monday (09/10/2023). When he first came he was extremely nervous and wouldn’t approach us, within a few hours, Yoda started to come out of his shell and is now seeking us out. Yoda has met other dogs in our care, and is very friendly with them.
When Yoda came he was covered in fleas (the last 2 photos show what was combed out in the first 15 mins)

Meet Ronnie.
Ronnie came as an emergency intake yesterday, through no fault of his own. Ronnie is approximately 7 years old. He is extremely friendly and excitable and would love nothing more than to have constant attention.
Ronnie does appear to have breed related breathing difficulties which will be checked in his upcoming vet appointment.

Donations play a crucial role in supporting the well-being of the dogs under our care. These funds are utilized for a wide range of things, including food, neutering, flea and worm treatment, vaccinations, microchipping, transportation expenses, and unforeseen veterinary bills. It is for these reasons that we ask for your assistance.

Both financial contributions and supplies are in constant demand, depleting as quickly as they come in. We want to maintain full transparency, and we are more than willing to provide invoices and receipts for all expenses.

This is why we ask if you are able to donate please do. Your generosity goes a long way to help the dogs in our care.

If you wish to contribute, you can do so through PayPal, by fulfilling items on our amazon wishlist, or by dropping off donations at our designated location in Stalybridge.

Update on Luca

Luca has settled in well with his fosterers. Enjoying cuddles any chance he gets, initiating play (he has pulled apart 5 different toys so far - this is why we are in constant need of toys.)

We have also been working on his behaviour, mainly guarding when outside & and dog reactivity.

We have also had to cycle through food to find the right one of Luca, as many have disagreed with him.

If you would like to donate to Luca’s care you can do so via PayPal

Meet Luca.

Luca arrived in our care on Sunday, as you can see from the first few photos he was sad, nervous, and very unsure of human interaction, especially with males. In just under a week his confidence has grown and he is now seeking out human interaction and enjoys playing with toys.

If you would like to donate to Luca's care you can do so via PayPal
