For many a dog owner, it may come as no surprise that your dog’s care, essentials & a even those few luxuries, can easily add up quickly! 🐶

But, did you know that the average dog owner can spend a whopping £2,000 on just the one doggy, per year?! 😅

Here are just some tips, that could help make your pet’s regular care, that little more affordable:

☑️Take advantage of meets and greets that are offered (& are usually complimentary) to get a feel for who is the right fit for your pet. Don’t commit until it feels right.

☑️If prices aren’t listed or aren’t clear, ask! Don’t be afraid to enquire & find out exactly what you could be paying, before agreeing to anything.

☑️Work out how much you are spending monthly, so you can budget accordingly, know how much you are spending & stay ahead of your invoices.

☑️Don’t be afraid to mix up services - eg. Drop ins and walks, or a mixture of both. Doing so shouldn’t be an issue for any care provider & could save you £££’s!

☑️Shop around.. if your pet’s care is costing you an arm & a leg, find out what’s out there & ask around for recommendations.

Just a little post to say.. Hi, I’m Maisie! 🥰👋🙋🏼‍♀️

I’m 31 years old, living in Stamford and originally from Kent. My partner of 12 years works as a full time teacher, and between us we have two gorgeous doggies - Bertie & Milo🐶🐶

I grew up surrounded by animals throughout my younger life - having several dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters during my childhood and always having friends and family’s pets in my home on holidays❤️

I knew that I wanted to work with animals from a young age, initially writing down my dream to be a vet as a preschooler! I just loved helping people to look after their pets, volunteering my time whenever they were away or out of town🥰

After graduating from university with both an industry and languages degree, I began working in the Marketing sector for which I served just shy of a decade, working at managerial level. I learnt so much & was surrounded by incredibly talented people, but I always knew I wanted to do so much more with my time & passion🙏

After adopting my rescue pup, Bertie, back in 2021, I began volunteering any spare time I had, to providing doggy home-checks for the charity, as well as helping to fundraise.. and it filled me with so much happiness. I knew working with animals was always going to be my focus❤️

And the journey above is what has led me to now.. crafting a super special pet care venture & fulfilling a lifetime’s wish of caring for precious pets with tailored walks & visits - doing something that comes to me so naturally 💁🏼‍♀️

I’ve created what I believe to be an affordable but loving, professional & personalised pet care service to suit the needs of all pets (great & small!)🐹

With an estimated 12.5 million pet cats in the UK, that’s an increase of an adorable 1.5m pussycats in homes, over the last 4 years!🐱

It’s therefore no surprise, that there’s such a huge demand for the purrrr-fect pet care service 🐾

Always go with your gut when interviewing a pet sitter for your precious kitty. You should get the feel for them straight away. And if you don’t, keep looking - don’t feel pressured to take on the first one you meet 💁🏼‍♀️

Your impression from the initial conversation with a potential caregiver, should also be reflected in their behaviour, as well as your pet’s behaviour, when meeting for the first time 🥰

Asking questions about your pet - such as their likes and dislikes, medical needs, and being proactive with ideas on how to create that little more comfort.. shows their willingness to create the very best bond with your kitty 🐈

This in turn will give you the peace of mind you need, that the care your pet receives when you are away, is tailored specifically to them 🐾❤️

🐶Stamford Quarry (located off of Casterton road, also accessible from Little Casterton road)

🐶Burghley House & Deer Park (located off of Barnack road, but easily accessible from Stamford town and various entrances are signposted throughout)

🐶Gypsy Hill (located off of Ryhall road, after the retail park)

🐶Stamford Meadows (located and accessible via town off of Bath row, however can also be accessed via Tinwell road)

🐶Stamford Rugby Fields (located off of Empingham road)

🐶And for a 25 minute drive you can reach Hemington Dog Park - located in PE8, fully enclosed, safe & secure fields!

Here are just a few things that I like to do, to help manage your pets nerves & slowly build up their confidence with me.. 🙏🥰

🐾Meet with your pet & yourself, before visiting without your presence. This way they have the opportunity to greet me at their highest comfort level & I can also gauge what is their normal behaviour

🐾Enter your home calmly, whilst also speaking softly, so your pet doesn’t feel spooked by my entrance

🐾Utilise the food you have on offer (kibble / treats) as a peace offering. Food = love! ❤️

🐾Walk places and in areas they are familiar with, so things feel comfortable and natural

🐾Avoid busy places when out and about, (and if necessary - away from other people and dogs) giving your pet the chance to bond with me in a quiet, calm environment

🐾Give space where it is being asked to be respected (eg. in crates, under furniture) where your animal is using this as their safe area

I believe that a bond can be created with every pet that I care for, but some just take that little more time and that’s just fine 🐾❤️
