Fleas can make the lives of both dogs and owners very miserable. Most of us begin to feel itchy just at the very thought of these pesky little parasites! While the winter months usually give everyone some respite, fleas can lay dormant in carpets and soft furnishings. Central heating can bring these creatures to life, even in previously unoccupied houses. However many people aren’t keen on chemical flea control. Holidays4Dogs looks into natural flea control.

There are many products on the market which can eradicate fleas from dogs and your home. However, some owners prefer to use more natural ways to keep fleas at bay. This is particularly important as topical flea treatments are known to harm the environment.

In addition, chemicals used for pet flea treatment are banned for the use in agriculture. 🫨

It's pancake day! 🥞🥞 Don't forget - your pooch doesn't have to miss out on this scrumptious treat day! Here's a recipe we found for peanut butter pancakes for doggos.🐶🐶

Ingredients.

100g flour
2 eggs
tbsp olive, or coconut oil
3 tbsp of peanut butter (XYLITOL FREE)
250ml water

For the topping -

50g chopped fruit like strawberries. or blueberries 🍓🫐🍓🫐 (NO GRAPES).

Method.

Beat the eggs. Add the water, peanut butter and flour. Beat together until smooth - (add more water if it's too thick). Heat the oil in a frying pan and add the batter mixture, making sure the pancakes are cooked evenly on either side. Once cooked, top with peanut butter spread and a sprinkling of fruit.

Don't forget portion control - these are only for an occasional treat. 😉(This recipe might not be suitable for dogs with allergies).

What if dogs and cats had opposing thumbs day - yes, it's an official day of the year 😆

Imagine if dogs and cats had opposable thumbs on their paws - what would they do? Open tin after tin of dog food, turn the T.V. on and off, open doors and gates, raid the fridge?

They could get themselves into a whole heap more trouble and make for some interesting training challenges 😆🙈
