These are the good days 💕
‘Training a rescue dog is harder’
‘Rescue dogs are aggressive’
‘I want a puppy not a rescue dog’
‘They are in rescue for a reason’
This is just a snippet of what I hear when people think about getting a dog from a breeder or a rescue.
We’ve had kaiah for 4 months now, and she has come on leaps and bounds. ANY dog you get you have to put the work and time.
- Kaiah never had to be toilet trained
- she was already great walking on lead
- she loved meeting new dogs out and about
-it’s so rewarding knowing the life she came from to now.
BUT
- we still have to give her time
- we introduce her to new experiences
- she has her good and bad days
- EVERYDAY we put time into training her like it should be WITH EVERY DOG RESCUE OR NOT
You should ALWAYS research the breed you’re going to get, to know the needs and traits so you can work with them. If their needs aren’t met they will be problematic no matter what dog you get or where you get them from.
A dog is a full time commitment. Let’s not let them down by misjudging how much time they need. They are social animals and just want to please🥰
