Big, Athletic Irish Lad.

This is one that can’t be missed, literally! He’s absolutely Massive! Standing at around 18hh, 9 years old and very low milage, he’s fit and ready to start a career. With his willing attitude and athleticism, he could do anything. He’s currently schooling at around a prelim/novice and popping small courses but has potential for much higher-level work.

Suitable for a tall man, yet often ridden by a 5ft3 lady, he’s the perfect husband/wife share. Snaffle mouthed, responsive, yet rideable. He does better with a confident rider to keep him brave.

A really friendly horse with playful, fun nature. Good to do in all ways, hacks alone and in company, fine with big traffic.

For sale through no fault of his own.

Offers around mid to high teens

What do you think to Frank?

We've always known Frank has an extreme amount of scope, but he's such a laid-back lad. It's sometimes hard to see.

Yesterday, with the help of , he easily popped 1.15. We decided to stop there as he looked so good.

Frank will soon be advertised for sale so watch this space if you're looking for a fab all-rounder.

Super proud of Harry today. He behaved impeccably at his first combined training today, gaining 68% in his first dressage and jumping nicely around his first full course. He’s going to make someone a fabulous little horse.
The dressage judge LOVED him.

Harry is an extremely striking horse with a very exciting future.

He’s got lovely large, loose paces which will continue to improve as he strengthens. He loves jumping but hasn’t had much opportunity. We have recently started training him over jumps and he’s proving to be a bit green yet very willing and showing a lot of talent.

He’s been to several clinics, xc schooling and recently attended his first combined training. We were so proud of him; he behaved impeccably and tried his heart out for us.

He hacks alone and in company but, as with all his disciplines, he isn’t a plod along and does need a confident, competent rider who’ll really enjoy working with such a special horse and working towards their bright future.

To sell or not to sell? That is my big dilemma at the moment.
I’m only 5ft3 and Flyer now stands at 17hh and hasn’t quite stopped growing.
I have really grown to love this gentle giant and love his new found relaxed, happy attitude.
But I’m like a little p*e on a drum up there and I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to harness all his power.
He is a very light, responsive and willing ride but I feel like and only working him in first gear and not to his full potential.
I think I’m going to offer him for sale but only to the right person as he is very special and I’ll be very sad to let him go.

😬😱 When did Flyer grow bigger than Cohen? Seriously Flyer, stop bloody growing!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to introduce you to Frank,

First things first, he’s NOT for sale! I’m hoping to keep him and get back out competing and having some fun.

He’s a well bred Irish Sports Horse, O.B.O.S quality x Grange Bouncer. At 16.1hh, he’s the perfect size for me and At 4yrs old, he’s the perfect age to crack on but put my own stamp on.

Have you watched the video? I’m not sure what I love the most about him? His willingness to a fence, his effortlessness jump, his beautiful smile as he passes the camera or his movement whilst in trot?
What do you like best?

We’ve been working with Eliza Atkinson and her feisty mare Missy for a few weeks.

When she first arrived, her canter was nothing short of dangerous. She’d panic, run, leap and buck.

Realising she was running through the contact, we changed her to into hackamore and just kept quietly showing her that everything is easier when she just calms down.

This was her yesterday, jumping better than ever before.

It’s official! We’re actually getting somewhere. And we couldn’t be happier.

We’ve had a bit of a rocky history including breaking a saddle and my ribs, him having an operation to help him breathe and us generally been afraid of each other.
But we’ve been moving forwards in little steps for a few months now and it’s just clicked and we’re getting on like good friends who trust each other.

I’m not ashamed to say I’ve had some confidence coaching with which has definitely helped put some demons in the past where they belong and helped me to move forward.

We still have a long way to go but there’s light at the end of the tunnel for us.

We are so lucky to have a yard of friendly people who support, help and encourage each other.

Do you think it’s important to have a bond with a horse?

It’s taken 15 months but I feel Flyer and I are finally beginning to bond, but is it important?

🤔 I ride my fair share of horses, some for only minutes and some for years.

I don’t think it’s necessary to have a bond to succeed (especially short term) but it’s extra special if you do.

It’s the difference between making a new friend at a party and having a laugh together for a short time or work only friends compared to becoming team mates and having a lasting friendship.

There’s also baggage for both horse and person that can be difficult to over come, in a similar way to human relationships. I’m still struggling to move on from my extra special relationship with now retired, top horse Cohen.

How do you feel about bonds with horses? Has it taken others as long as it has with us? What baggage has got in the way? Have you had success even without any bond?
