📋Case Study 1 - Ovariohysterectomy 🐶
🐾Here is Belle (1yo, Female, Cocker Spaniel)
She recently visited the practice for an ovariohysterectomy (spay).
🐾Spaying, or neutering a female dog, involves the removal of the ovaries and the uterus.
🐾Spaying your female dog will stop her from coming into season, and prevents unwanted pregnancy if your pet was to be accidently caught by an entire male dog. Spaying will also reduce the risk of developing ovarian cancer in later life.
🐾A couple of weeks ago Belle received a ‘pre-spay check’ by one of our vets, Helen, to make sure she was fit and healthy enough for her operation.
During this appointment the vet also checked that Belle was not in season or producing milk.
