Last night, strong winds sadly brought down a tree in our grounds. But no need to worry - our amazing team had it cleared and repurposed in just 30 minutes! ⏱️
The best part? Our elephant Mondy got a delicious breakfast out of it! 🐘🍴 Did you know that our keepers cut and collect all the browse our animals need themselves, both from our estate and beyond? 🌳✂️
For a good part of the day, they're basically lumberjacks! 🪓

As part of our World Chimp Weekend celebrations, our visitors had the chance to decorate some enrichment bags for our chimps. 🎨🖌️
The bags were then placed inside the chimp house with lots of lovely treats inside. Safe to say that they were a big hit with our troop! 🐵❤

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Nessie, the newest member of our sea lion family! 🎉 Born on June 25th to mum Luce, Nessie has already captured our hearts with her adventurous spirit. 🥰

One of the most important jobs for any keeper is to come up with new and exciting enrichment ideas. 🌿🐒 Enrichment keeps our animals active and stimulates their natural behaviors. 💚
Check out some of the creative enrichment our chimp keepers have come up with lately! On Chimp Island, they hide food in the tangled roots of the undergrowth to promote foraging, throw it high into the trees to inspire climbing 🌳, and place it in puzzle devices to challenge our chimps' problem-solving skills. 🍃🍌🧩
It's hard work for our keepers, but they pour their hearts into it and love every moment! ❤️💪

Marsupials have a fascinating reproductive process with newborns being developed, carried and suckled in the mother’s pouch. 👶
Our little joey is now beginning to venture outside of mum’s pouch for longer periods each day. 😊
