The countdown is on - we’re reopening on the 15th of March! 🎉
The wait is nearly over and tickets are available to book now. 😁
Our Animal Experiences calendar is also LIVE, so if you’ve been waiting to feed a giraffe, meet the meerkats, or be a keeper for the day, now’s your chance. 🐾
After a busy winter of park improvements, we can't wait to welcome you back! ❤️
🐘 How do you x-ray an elephant’s feet? You ask her nicely! 🩺
Mondy is seriously clever - just watch as she places each foot on the wooden block when asked to by her keeper, allowing our vet, Romain, to get a clear x-ray, all completely stress-free! 😁
This is only possible thanks to lots of dedicated training, built on trust. Mondy chooses to take part, knows she can leave at any time, and stays totally relaxed throughout. It’s a brilliant example of how we care for our animals in the least invasive way possible. 💙
We are so proud of the amazing work our keepers do! 🥰

This weekend, our very own king of rock(ing around the paddock), Elvis, celebrated his 23rd birthday! 🎸👑 (He’s the one in the classic black-and-white look - very on brand.)
Ever the generous soul, he was 'all shook up' about his cake but still shared it with his pal Archie - because birthdays are always better with friends! 🎂

Sundays are for lunch with the girls! 🦏🦏🦏
Our three lovely ladies are tucking into a well-earned feast - because being a rhino is hungry work! White rhinos are specialist grazers, with wide, square lips perfectly designed for munching on grass. And, they can eat around 50kg a day! That’s a lot of Sunday brunch… 🍽️🌿

Love is in the air… ❤️🐾
Sea lions don’t need to wear their heart on their sleeve - they’ve got one right on their nose! 💘 All sea lions have heart-shaped nose prints, making them naturals at sharing the love.
Just look at Oscar and Ineke stealing a smooch - could they be any cuter? 😍
Happy Valentine’s Day from all of us (and our most loved-up pair) at Blair Drummond! 💕

🎉🐷 Happy 11th birthday to our lovely kune kune pigs, Thelma and Louise! 🎂 🐽
Despite many people thinking they are smelly, pigs are actually very clean animals - they just like a mud bath now and again! If you're ever lucky enough to give Thelma and Louise a scratch, you'll notice they smell a bit like maple syrup! 🍁
Join us in wishing them the happiest of birthdays! 🎈

👅 Tongues Out Tuesday… or should we say ‘Tongues UP Tuesday’? 👃
Clyde’s got a special talent - not everyone can reach their own nostrils with their tongue! 🤭
Impressed? Grossed out? A bit of both? Either way, you know he's a cutie! 😍

Eddie and Egg are growing up fast! 🦌✨ Our eland calves from last year have really shot up in the last 2 months - just look at the difference already! 📸👀
When Eddie was tiny, he went through a bit of an identity crisis and was convinced he was a lechwe. 🤔🦌 Thankfully, he’s now figured things out and fully embraced his eland roots (though we wouldn’t be surprised if he still thinks he’s an honorary lechwe now and then!).

Happy International Zebra Day! 🦓🎉
Today, we're celebrating the beauty and brilliance of zebras! We’re lucky to have four beautiful zebras here at Blair Drummond Safari Park – Panya, Amahle, Tanu, and Abba – who share a habitat with our giraffes. 🦓💚🦒
Did you know a zebra’s stripes aren’t just for show? 😲 They actually help break up their shape, making it much harder for predators to single out individual zebras in a group. Take a look at the photo below – at some points, it’s tricky to tell where one zebra ends and another begins! Some stripes even seem to line up perfectly from one zebra to the next! 📸👀

🌸 Fluff with a purpose! 🌸
That luxurious ruff around a black and white ruffed lemur’s neck isn’t just for looking fabulous - it actually makes them one of nature’s most unlikely pollinators! When these lemurs reach into flowers for nectar, their fluffy fur picks up pollen, just like a bee! 🐝✨
In Madagascar’s rainforests, they help pollinate the traveller’s tree, spreading pollen as they move from flower to flower. So, basically, they’re fluffy little eco-warriors keeping the forest alive! 🌿🐒

Check out this Père David stag's seriously impressive antlers! 🦌✨ Covered in velvet, they’re growing strong in preparation for the rut – the mating season when stags compete for the attention of females 🏆❤️.
As the velvet falls off, the antlers harden, getting ready for the challenge ahead. Once the season ends, the stag will shed his antlers, and the cycle starts again 🔄.
It’s a unique process to witness, and we’re lucky to have these magnificent creatures roaming their habitat 🌿.

One of our youngest macaques, Harper, has a message for the world… but we’ll let you decide what it is! 😛

🌰 Happy Red Squirrel Appreciation Day! 🐿️
We’re lucky to have a thriving population of red squirrels here, and we show our appreciation for them in a few different ways! ❤️
To help keep our furry friends happy and healthy, we provide purpose-built nest boxes and supply them with supplemental feeding throughout the year. 🏡🍴
When you visit, please keep an eye out for our red squirrels when driving and stick to the speed limit. These busy little creatures sometimes dart across the road, and your care helps keep them safe. 🚗⬇️ We've marked their most common crossing points with special signs around the park. 👀

First, it was zebras playing football, and now Clyde’s getting in on the action! 🐂 Our playful Highland calf has discovered the joy of chasing a ball around, and we couldn’t wait to share his moves with you. Safe to say he’s having a ball! ⚽
Enrichment activities like this keep our animals happy and healthy - and give us plenty of adorable moments to share. 😁

Abba showing off his football skills? ⚽️🦓
Not exactly! These special enrichment balls are filled with tasty treats, and our clever zebras need to nudge and roll them around to get the goodies to fall out. It’s a fun way to keep their minds active and their bodies busy! 😁
