Last night, strong winds sadly brought down a tree in our grounds. But no need to worry - our amazing team had it cleared and repurposed in just 30 minutes! β±οΈ
The best part? Our elephant Mondy got a delicious breakfast out of it! ππ΄ Did you know that our keepers cut and collect all the browse our animals need themselves, both from our estate and beyond? π³βοΈ
For a good part of the day, they're basically lumberjacks! πͺ

Guess whoβs back! π΅β¨ Our adorable Harper is growing up fast, but sheβs still sticking close to mum, Eadie!
Watch as she chats away to her reflection in the camera. Interestingly, macaques often chatter their teeth as a friendly gesture when bonding over a baby. π¬
Looks like this cutie is making friends with herself! π₯° What do you think sheβs saying? π€

Lunchtime with Ruby and Harriet: munching on their favourite greens! ππ¦
Giraffes are 'browsers,' which means they typically eat high-growing plants. In contrast, 'grazers' like zebras prefer grasses and other low-lying plants. This is why our giraffes and zebras can live in harmony, each enjoying their own favourite foods. π¦π¦

One of the most important jobs for any keeper is to come up with new and exciting enrichment ideas. πΏπ Enrichment keeps our animals active and stimulates their natural behaviors. π
Check out some of the creative enrichment our chimp keepers have come up with lately! On Chimp Island, they hide food in the tangled roots of the undergrowth to promote foraging, throw it high into the trees to inspire climbing π³, and place it in puzzle devices to challenge our chimps' problem-solving skills. πππ§©
It's hard work for our keepers, but they pour their hearts into it and love every moment! β€οΈπͺ

π Meet Oscar, our recycling sea lion! π
