It’s one of our favourite days - Pancake Day! 🥞
Feast in style and try making something different this year 👉 Savoury pancakes with battered Oyster Mushrooms 🤤

✨𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐏𝐄✨
𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒:
150g plain flour
125ml boiling water
rapeseed oil, for brushing
𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐒:
* Mix the flour, water + a pinch of salt in a bowl until it forms a dough
* When cool enough to handle, knead for 5-10 mins
* Divide into 10 little balls and roll each one out as thin as you can
* Brush a frying pan with the oil + cook each pancake over a medium heat for 20 seconds each side or until cooked but not browned.
𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑:
50g plain flour
50g cornflour
1/2 tsp five spice
150ml tonic water
150g Oyster Mushrooms sliced thinly
Julienne vegetables (we used cucumber, spring onion + carrots)
Hoisin sauce
𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃:
* Heat approx. 1 litre of oil in a pan or Preheat a deep fat fryer to 180C
* Mix the batter ingredients in a large bowl
* Place the sliced mushrooms in to a mix of plain flour with a little salt + pepper
* Once covered, drop the slices into the batter mix, coat well and lower slowly into the hot oil,
* Cook for a few minutes or until golden brown
* Serve with pancakes, vegetables, hoisin + for a Vegan Crispy Pancake Feast!
