👋 I've had a few new followers recently so thought I'd re-introduce myself. 👋

I'm Hollie and I'm a Qualified Animal Nutritionist (MSc)

I help pet owners overcome nutritional queries and health issues through dietary changes and natural supplementation to achieve their pets optimum health!

If that's you, I'm here today to share my 5 top tips to help you soothe that itch!

⭐️IF YOU HAVE THIS ISSUE YOU SHOULD SEEK NUTRITIONAL ADVICE⭐️

1. Make sure your pet is up to date with flea treatments

2. Use natural supplements to help build skin barrier

3. Supplement diet to aid skin microbiome

Homemade pumpkin puree for our little Azure!

Here's some nutritious pumpkin 🎃 facts you may not have known for dogs and cats:

- Can help settle an upset stomach
- Source of fibre
- Improve Digestion
- Full of important vitamins such as A, C, E and the B complex
- Help to prevent hairballs
- Full of important minerals such as Calcium, Potassium, Copper and Phosphorus
- Help reduce issues with a**l glands
- Low in calories so great for weightless diets
- Safe for diabetic pets

Please be sure the thoroughly cook your pumpkin before feeding it to your pet and do not add salt.

I simply boil and mash Azure's and she loves it 😊 P.S Azure is a VERY gentle eater if your pet isn't please don't feed from a metal spoon as this may cause dental damage.

Do you know the signs of potential food allergies in your dog?

Signs to look out for:

Skin – red and itchy, your dog may have some cuts that you will need to clean to prevent secondary infections.

Ears – they may look red, have some possible discharge and an unpleasant smell. Your dog may be scratching or rubbing them.

Coat – Look for itchy patches that may look red, hair loss, and excessive licking.

Face – pink/red areas around the nose and lips, there may be some hair loss from rubbing/scratching.

If you notice any of these symptoms it may be possible that your dog has a food allergy and will need to go through an elimination diet. This way we can discover what ingredient is upsetting them and we can formulate diets to keep their tails wagging!

What goes into your dog's diet?
Well, it's mainly composed of Macro and Micronutrients, but what are these?

Macronutrient - Essential dietary component such as protein, carbohydrates and fats. These are consumed in larger amounts in the diet.

Micronutrient - Necessary components of a diet such as vitamins and minerals. Consumed in smaller amounts.

Both of these together work to create a balanced diet for us and our pets.
