Morning Hoomans! Just to let you know that the field is OPEN if you are already booked in but any available bookings on the website have been closed today and tomorrow because it's very wet again! 💦

If you're booked in over the next couple of days, we highly recommend rescheduling (see instructions below) but if you do want to go ahead and visit you'll need sturdy boots and towels for muddy paws! 🐾

BSL DOGS 🐾 XL BULLYS / PITBULLS etc.

We have received an UPDATE from our insurance provider - Pet Business Insurance in relation to the change in legislation as of 31st December 2023.

In short we should be able to accept private hire bookings from owners of dogs that fall under BSL, but with conditions from 31st December 2023 ( Conditions set out by DEFRA )

The conditions have been outlined to us as per below:

🐶 The dog is registered with the index of exempted dog (IED) and a copy of the life certificate is provided to us.

📝 A copy of the public liability insurance certificate for the dog is provided to us.

👨🏼‍🦱The dog handler ratio is 1:1 with their handler at all times

✂️ The dog is Neutered

🐾The dog is Micro Chipped

✔️ The dog is muzzled at all times

🔐 The gate is locked from the inside

🚗 Owners park in the field where possible (dogs MUST be returned to their lead to exit if they have to park outside of the field )

We are HUGELY disappointed about the need for a muzzle ( and will be looking at what can be done to challenge this )

We will be amending our terms and conditions and booking system to allow us to obtain the necessary information before accepting bookings from BSL owners but for now it’s business as usual 🐾 💕

We are closed again today (and will be assessing the field later) but did you know we have 5 other locations that you might want to explore? 🌿🐾

🐕 is a 2 acre field in Cheshire just 2.5 miles from Poynton, 4 miles from Macclesfield, 8 miles from Stockport, 6 miles from Wilmslow and 6.5 miles from Alderley Edge

🐕 is 1.5 acre field with a 1.5 acre woodland in a peaceful rural location in the village of the Mottram in Longdendale just a short drive from Stalybridge, Dukinfield, Ashton-under-lyne and Romiley

🐕 at approx 4 acres is one of the biggest dog fields in the north west and is located just off the A49 a short drive from Northwich, Warrington, Sandiway, Cuddington, Weaverham, Winnington, Stretton, Appleton and Daresbury

🐕 is a 1.5 acre field in a peaceful rural location in the heart of beautiful Shropshire countryside, yet only a short drive from Telford, Shrewsbury and Stafford

🐕 has 3 lovely fields to choose from and is located in Byley near Middlewich just a short drive from Winsford, Holmes Chapel, Northwich, Knutsford

As many will know I have secure dog exercise areas in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Stockport and Shropshire and was fully intending to accept bookings from BSL dogs with exempt status after the ban, as were many dog field owners.

It would seem that the main insurance companies we use have other ideas. In a nutshell as it stands we won't be covered so won't be able to accept these poor dogs - they seem to feel our fields are a “ Public Space “ despite them being privately owned and hired for private use ☹️

Secure dog exercise areas are a godsend to many for various reasons.

I was hoping we could offer a solution to exercise BSL dogs in a secure environment. Sadly it would appear that this may not be the case. I and many dog field owners are really unhappy about this.

I just wanted to share this so all are prepared, as much as they can be.

There will be further conversations with the insurance companies so I live in hope that common sense will prevail 🙏 and I have already agreed to join forces with the lovely Anne McKenna who has fields on Anglesey and Liverpool to fight this those who know me will be aware I will fight tooth and nail and will leave no stone unturned 👏🏻 ( this post was created by Anne and posted in other groups in her area so am sharing 🐾 )
