On Saturday 15th April, we'll be doing some pottery painting at Woodbank Community Food Hub in Stockport. As if it wasn't a fun enough evening already, we'll be eating some delicious, ethically-sourced food and having some drinks together 🍻

We're looking forward to our first Open Hub today!

Every last Thursday of the month, starting from this week, Woodbank Community Food Hub will be open from 4pm-7pm.

This is a welcoming space for visitors to come and connect with others. The heating will be on, hot food will be available and you can make the most of being at Woodbank by reading any of our books, speaking to our team about their work or taking a tour around our market garden. We will also soon be arranging the odd workshop and learning opportunity for those attending!

What is agroecology: The political and social context of agroecology/Approaches to agroecological teaching

Agroecology is at the centre of our work and our movement, but what does the term mean and how do we teach and learn in agroecological ways? In our morning session led by activist and academic Emma Cardwell, we’ll explore agroecological principles and how they shape our work. In the afternoon, we’ll look at we apply these as teachers and learners on the land. With Marina O’Connell, trainer and farmer at The Apricot Centre, we’ll consider learning styles, communication and creating space for learning through failure. Our upcoming volunteering days at Woodbank 🔨

If you didn't already know, we hold regular volunteering days at Woodbank Community Food Hub in Stockport. These sessions are open to the public (though we ask that you book on in advance so we know how many people to expect!) and provide a great opportunity for you to learn about our organic food production while lending us a hand on the land!
