We will be warmly welcoming Danielle Giles to Romiley on April 1st to celebrate the release of her stunning debut MERE - a darkly atmospheric historical novel about fear and survival, power and position, and a love that takes hold in the darkest of places. Danielle will be in ​conversation with bookshop owner Kelly Willocks.

THANK YOU to the wonderful Keira Willis for popping into the Stockport branch today to sign copies of both books from her TIB STREET BALLROOM series - Tib Street Ballroom and the sequel Exit, Pursued by Death have been and continue to be favourites with many of our readers and especially our lovely team member Lou who has been hand-selling these books with a passion since their release and got to meet Keira today!

Serenity Booksellers are delighted to be welcoming the wonderful Naomi Booth to Stockport for the launch of her new book RAW CONTENT.

Set during an atmospheric Yorkshire winter, it’s the dark, tender and troubled story of a young mother afflicted by compulsive thoughts, whose past has taught her that love and fear are two sides of the same coin.

Celebrations and schemes for team Stockport Noir at the Grapevine bar tonight! Our first get-together post our first Stockport Noir a week and a half ago and just still feeling in awe of how much positive energy was felt throughout the day from both the wonderful authors and our crime fiction community, some of who travelled a long way to take part.

We are 60% capacity for SN2026 and if you haven’t got tickets yet, now is the time as there is so much yet to be revealed! We will be making more panel announcements soon but we are already looking forward to next year and also a few surprises too!

We had the honour of hosting Nussaibah Younis for her debut fiction novel, Fundamentally. A wonderful evening was had by all as Tawseef Khan asked some incredibly thoughtful questions, which Nussaibah answered with humour and insight.

Her history of working on a program to de-radicalise ISIS brides in Iraq inspired this darkly humoured story about Nadia, running away from her own troubles to help others. Our audience were able to pick up signed copies a week ahead of the release and we will have signed copies available from next week in both shops.

Thank you Nussaibah and Tawseef for a wonderful evening and everyone who attended.

TONIGHT… our monthly Creative Writing Group met to catch up, swap ideas and share and it’s always wonderful to hear the progress and find out where inspiration has come from. From small but mighty poems, edge-of-our-seat pitches, an enthusiastic story about butterflies (and yetis!) made for radio and an absolutely not naff story about a most precious pebble. Thank you all so much!

Out this week (though HarperNorth very kindly released copies of the book early for ☺️) is Natalie Chandler’s superb new psychological thriller, THE VOICES. Natalie is a master at the dark twist - crime fiction fans will love her latest page turner! Co-owner Chris loved it - “An incredibly well written and unique novel with so many layers and an ending you will not see coming!”

Tonight, we had the huge pleasure of welcoming Adelle Stripe to our Stockport bookshop to talk, reminisce and read from her gorgeous new memoir BASE NOTES, a confronting, cathartic and exploratory work that links scents to memory; of time, place, people and feelings. There’s so much more to this book - funny, raw and beautifully written, a unique perspective yet so familiar with every olfactory human experience.

Adelle was in conversation with journalist and friend, Terri White, who drew out great conversation and her love for Adelle’s book really showed.

Thank you to those that attended tonight! If you missed out, fear not - Adelle has kindly signed some copies of Base Notes (along with some paperbacks of Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile and Ten Thousand Apologies) which will be available in our Stockport shop from tomorrow and Romiley soon after.

JOIN US TOMORROW! We are gearing up for our first author event in our Stockport bookshop and we can’t wait to welcome C L Miller for the brand new book in the series THE ANTIQUE HUNTER’S: DEATH ON THE RED SEA.

We’ll be finding out about where Cara got her inspiration for this fabulous murder mystery series, why she chose to write about antiques, and some insight into Freya and Aunt Carole teaming up once again as there is a new crime to solve for the Lockwood Antique Hunter’s Agency!
