Our gentle giant River is still looking for a home ❤️
Seven year old River arrived in RSPCA care after being signed over by his previous owner. They were no longer able to meet his needs. River has Flea Allergy Dermatitis which means he is allergic to flea bites. It can result in fur loss, itching and inflamed skin. A regular, high quality flea treatment is enough to keep the condition at bay.
River found the cattery environment quite daunting to begin with. He was easily spooked by sudden noises and very unsure of the unfamiliar sights and smells. Given time he gradually settled in and began to show himself as the sweet natured, affectionate boy that we all now know and love. The way to River’s heart is through food! He loves food and treats of any kind. He is also very good at giving us the ‘Puss in boots big eyes’ when it comes to feeding time!
River is a highly intelligent boy who has mastered all of our different puzzle feeders. He is a large cat weighing in at just over 6kg’s but he’s an absolute gentle giant. He loves attention and company. His favourite toy is his feather wand toy, once that appears he transforms into a playful kitten. He will jump around after it and is highly adept at snatching it out of the air. He moves like furry lightning!
River was adopted recently but returned after a mere two weeks through no fault of his own. He seems sad to have found himself back in a cattery so we are hoping he will find his forever home very soon. His new owner will need to be aware that River takes time to adapt to unfamiliar environments. He will need a quiet room to begin with where he can find his feet at his own pace. He is a very clean boy and prefers to separate his ‘business’ so he will need two litter trays. His adopter will need to be patient and allow him time to adjust to his new family and surroundings. Once he’s settled he is the most wonderful, affectionate boy you could ever wish to meet. Due to his shy nature we think he would be best as the only pet in the home. He can live
Sally loves her strokes - and very politely asks us to keep going if she's not had enough 🥺 We'd love to find a loving home for this darling girl. Please share and help us look if you can!
Sally was brought into the RSPCA after being found as a stray. She is a sweet little lady who will tug on your heart-strings! We don’t have any idea of what she may have been through or how old she is, but it's safe to say that she’s definitely a senior citizen.
Sally enjoys the simple things in life. She loves to nap most of the day away in her snuggly bed. We have to approach her carefully when she’s in her sleepy state because she has impaired hearing and doesn’t hear us approach. Usually a very gentle stroke, just to let her know you are there is the polite thing to do (and avoids startling her!).
She can be very playful and spritely when the mood takes her. She enjoys pouncing on her feathered wand toy in short bursts… before it’s time for her next nap! Poor Sally doesn’t have very many teeth left but she doesn't let that slow her gallop. She is very partial to her wet food but only if it’s in gravy. This lady knows what she likes. Despite her lack of teeth she's never shy about polishing off a Dreamie or two and doesn’t struggle to eat her dry food.
While she is generally a very quiet cat, Sally will occasionally summon her human servants with a single loud meow. Usually when she would like to be stroked or if she would like us to lift her down from her cat tree for a bit of exploring. She loves a fuss around her head and cheeks but prefers her back end to be left out of it. If you are stroking her and stop before she’s had her fill she sometimes politely touches your hand with her paw and guides it back to her head. It’s one of the sweetest things we have ever seen and we are all completely besotted with her.
Sally is looking for a quiet, relaxed home environment without other animals and with someone who will provide all of the creature comfor
❤️Taylor❤️
**Reserved**
This fabulous lady is Taylor! Taylor is approximately 2 years old and came into care with another Bengal, Travis, after the two were discovered abandoned in a kitchen. They had been bred from repeatedly and were left without food, so were both underweight upon entry to an RSPCA cattery. Taylor has much preferred the peace of being away from Travis, and is now looking for her own forever home where she can be fully doted upon as she deserves!
Taylor is a very sweet cat. We separated her from Travis as Travis was dominating her, and for the first couple of days afterwards she was shy and clearly decompressing. She likes spending time up high on her framework, where she can survey everything that’s going on and feel safe, and this was especially true whilst she was settling in at the centre. She would give our outstretched hands a sniff, before beginning to purr and leaning into a cheek tickle. Taylor likes gentle affection from her human companions and the space to be independent if she wishes - she’s good at entertaining herself and is happy to take herself off for an afternoon nap when required.
As her confidence has grown, Taylor has shown just how curious she is! She’s a proper little explorer and likes to have a good nosy of her surroundings, slinking around like a panther in the jungle. Bring out a feathery wand toy, however, and all of her attention zeroes in on playtime. Taylor loves mock hunting her toys and getting to pounce on them. She has two favourite toys in the centre: a plush corn that we often dab catnip on for her, and a small foam ball that she’ll bat around and chase at racing car speeds! It’s likely she didn’t get much time for playing in her previous home so it’s lovely to see that side of her blossoming now. Her new family will have a great time finding ways to keep her entertained and watching her enjoy her toys!
Taylor has a chatty side to her as most Bengals do. She speaks in very adorable squeaks - every mornin
Last week our resident cheeky chap Monkey put out a plea for some new toys and boy did you guys deliver! Monkey left us for his new home this morning, after several days of top notch playtime with his gifts, but he asked me to share the donations out with the other cats. Here's new resident Oreo settling in with the help of some catnip toys!
A HUGE thank you to the following people who donated items from our Amazon wishlist. We really do have the best supporters!

You are all amazing ❤
Kyrie is a bundle of love and fear. She came into our care after being abandoned and is now learning to trust humans again thanks to the patience and love shown by her wonderful foster carer.
Kyrie is such a sweet and gentle girl. When she arrived in foster care, she found herself a safe space and stayed there for the first couple of days. Curiosity got the better of her though and one day her foster carer turned around to find her cautiously approaching with interest. Once this trust had been built, Kyrie transformed into a really loving and affectionate cat.
Kyrie loves to be in the presence of her foster carer, always sleeping close by and having a paw on her to know she’s there and that she’s safe. She is a really playful girl and very intelligent too! She’s worked out her puzzle feeders and she knows where the Dreamies are kept – they’re a must to help build that bond up with her. Once with a patient and understanding owner, in her own home, we are convinced that she will relax at a quicker pace and her new owners will enjoy the bond that will be built between them. She is going to be such a rewarding cat!
We are looking for an adult home where there isn’t too much coming and going. Kyrie is nervous of new people entering her space so it’s vital her new adopters give her a quiet space of her own to settle into and retreat when she’s fearful. In time she would like access to a garden, away from busy roads.

Rory’s application has sadly fallen through so this sweet little girl is available again. She would love a playmate to get into mischief with! ❤️
Rory is a 4 month old black kitten who was born in RSPCA care. Her mum was given up due to being pregnant and the previous owner not wanting to deal with the mess of kittens. Rory’s mum and siblings have all found homes and she is patiently waiting for someone to choose her!
Rory is an inquisitive and playful girl. Out of her litter, Rory is the most curious and the first to come for food! She is also the one to explore first with her two sisters following behind her cautiously. In contrast, she is also the most easily spooked and can be quite jumpy at sudden movements or noises.
Although initially unsure, once you start stroking her she realises she actually enjoys having a fuss and starts purring like a little engine! Playtime is her favourite and she loves chasing her siblings through their play tunnel and pouncing on them unsuspectedly! She loves anything feathery, always choosing those toys over any others.
Rory is looking for a home with an existing young playful cat or kitten for her to play chase and kitten wrestling with. She was also fond of her foster carer’s cat-friendly dog so she could live with a dog providing they are used to cats and are calm and gentle with her. She can live with children of older primary school age and would require outdoor access when she’s old enough.

Meet our seasonal duo, Summer and Winter! ❤️
Meet Winter & Summer ❤️
This bonded pair are coming up for 6 months of age and have sadly spent the majority of their young lives in the cattery. They were removed from a multi-animal house where there were concerns for their welfare. When they arrived they were suffering from cat flu which has taken some time to fully clear. They have now been given a clean bill of health and are ready to start their search for a forever family.
Winter is the handsome black and white boy who always looks startled with his wide yellow eyes! His sister Summer is a stunning dark tortie who is not quite as brave as her brother but is happy to be led astray by him when it comes to causing mischief!
They are typical, young kittens and full of energy. Whilst they do love to play together, they will need a lot of playtime with their humans too, to keep them stimulated and to avoid them causing kitten carnage! Although Summer is shyer than Winter, she comes into her own when it’s play time and its every cat for itself – she gives as good as she gets when there are toys involved!
Winter is always first to greet us, with a happy chirrup and a loud purr. He will hop onto our knee for a fuss too whereas Summer will require a patient owner to build her confidence through interactive play. Due to her lack of confidence, when she is afraid Summer can sometimes use her paw in defence. However, once she is comfortable with you, she really does enjoy a fuss and a headrub too!
Due to Summer’s nervous nature, we are looking for a home where any children are of secondary school age. They will need outdoor access once settled and old enough, away from busy roads, so they can play out and burn off some of their endless energy. They could possibly live with a calm laid back cat following introductions.

New arrivals, Ace and Luna, have got that Friday feeling and are enjoying some treats! ❤
Sooty, our resident purr machine having a fuss ❤️
Sooty, our resident purr machine having a fuss. ❤️
Sooty came into RSPCA care after being signed over by a housing officer rather than an owner. Sadly, it’s possible that she may have been left behind in the property when they moved elsewhere. Sooty is a lovely girl, she loves her food but has over indulged a little in the past so she is currently on a strict diet in order to return her to a healthier weight. Sooty has a scar on her back where she has had a large cyst removed. It has all healed well and causes her no issues at all.
Sooty will absolutely melt your heart when you meet her, she is shy but has the sweetest, most loving nature. When she emerges from her hiding spot she gives the best head bumps and has the loudest purr! She gains confidence in the presence of a trusted human and is visibly happier when she has companionship. We would love a quiet home for Sooty. Loud noises and unfamiliar people still send her scurrying back to her hiding spots but once settled in a home we think her adorable personality will shine through and that she will form a close bond with her human caretakers.
We have yet to discover if she likes to play with toys but hopefully once she has a home of her own that side of her may emerge. Another of our cats, Toby, was also signed over from the same property but on a different date. If someone is looking to adopt a pair we could look at re-introducing them both. They seem like very gentle characters, and we think it’s very possible they could live together again. Children in the household would need to be 12years+ and due to their shy nature we think they would be happier not living with dogs. She would need a safe outdoor space to explore once she feels brave enough.

Chico ❤️
Look at Chico go!! ❤️ This gorgeous 1 year old boy came into RSPCA care after being abandoned in a property by his previous owner. He is one of the friendliest cats you could ever wish to meet so it’s heartbreaking to think of him alone in a property with no human contact.
Chico is also a total snuggle bug! He has this adorable quirk of sitting like a human! Once he’s finished playing he will curl up on your lap for cuddles and just loves being around people. He is pretty much everything you could want in a cat; friendly, loving and playful!
Chico is a bit of a livewire! He has bags of energy and loves to play. He will charge through his play tunnel and pounce on his mouse toys and he absolutely loves chasing and catching stringy toys. Chico can get very overexcited when he plays and will often use your hands and arms as a kickeroo! We are re-directing him to his actual toys when he does this so hopefully this behaviour will subside and is just due to him being frustrated in the cattery.
Chico does have an unquantified heart murmur which has varied in grade during each veterinary exam. Whilst this poses him no current health risks it does need to be monitored yearly at his vaccination appointment and will also need declaring to any pet insurance companies.
Chico can be rehomed with an existing playful cat but they would have to be prepared for his boisterous nature. He could possibly live with a cat-friendly dog providing slow introductions are carried out and he will need a home away from busy roads. He can live with children of secondary school age – or younger if they have lived with cats like Chico before.

❤️❤️❤️Twinkle and Toby, showing how far they have come in this video of them interacting with their fosterer. ❤️❤️❤️
This lovely pair are looking for a home together. We will also consider a foster home with a view to adopt with this pair because they take some time to adjust to new surroundings, read more about their story below..
Toby and Twinkle have been on quite a journey. They are a pair of siblings who were previously adopted from the RSPCA as kittens. Due to a change in their owner’s circumstances they were sadly returned 10 years on. For this shy pair, everything they had ever known, changing all at once was a lot for them to deal with. They didn’t cope well with cattery life at all, only emerging from their hiding place at night to eat and quickly use their trays. The rest of the time they were huddled together in their hide, too afraid to even look up and make eye contact.
We decided they would be more comfortable in a quiet foster home. That way they would have the time and space they needed to adjust to all of the changes they faced.
They were very frightened and chose to only emerge at night to begin with. Their fosterer kept tabs on them by using a motion activated night vision camera to make sure they were both well and eating. After a few weeks they slowly began to relax a little, toys started to move around overnight so we knew they had started to play. A month in (and much to our surprise) at feeding time one day, Twinkle decided to emerge for a fuss! It was a lovely breakthrough moment for their fosterer. She continued to come out for a fuss every day and showed herself to be a wonderfully affectionate girl who especially liked a good cheek scratch.
Toby, being the more nervous of the two, continued to hide and would hiss when approached. He slowly began to accept treats but shied away from any attempt at physical contact.
Both cats needed dental work, Toby in particular needed several teeth out. This would prove

Bunny is a lap cat through and through - turn the sound on to hear some happy purrs! Surprisingly, Bunny has had no interest despite her being a firm favourite here at the centre with all of her cuddles ❤️If you can find space in your heart (and on your lap) for our little Bunny please submit an application if you think you would be a good fit or give her a share to give her the best possible chance of finding a new home!
If you are looking for a new feline friend then 5yr old Bunny may be the one for you! This little lady has had an incredibly tough start to the year after she was found as a stray, having recently given birth. Sadly when she was found, her kittens had passed away and so Bunny came into RSPCA care, both grieving and unsure of what was going on. We have given her lots of love, fusses and attention here and whilst she still remains a little nervous, she is incredibly sweet natured and ready to make friends.
She does spend most of her time hiding but when you pop your hand into her bed to stroke her whilst she is all curled up, it doesn’t take long before you hear a lovely loud purr sounding from inside the bed. She has recently started to sit on her visitors' knees, which is a huge step forward.
Whoever offers this sweet girl her forever home just needs to let her settle in at her own pace. We are confident that she will gain confidence and flourish in a home, it does need to be at the rate that she feels comfortable with. There is nothing more rewarding than adopting a cat who has had a tricky past, and providing with everything that they have ever wanted and all they deserve. By doing this you are sure to be rewarded with love, purrs and head bumps galore! And who doesn’t want the love of a cat as sweet as Bunny – we couldn’t think of anything better!
From the little black spot on her nose right to the tip of her tail, this little lady is filled with the potential to be a loving, feline companion. Bunny is looking for a relaxed, quie
**RESERVED** Mischief has been living up to his name and ‘helping us’ with our office work today!
Mischief is a very handsome 10 year old boy that came into RSPCA care as he was being fed by an elderly gentleman who sadly passed away. Mischief has been a 'Six Dinner Sid' and has spent years visiting a number of houses, choosing to visit this particular gentleman and taking up residence in his shed.
Mischief's mouth was in a very bad way when he arrived, with several rotten teeth which were causing him discomfort. He's now had a dental by our vet and most of his teeth have been removed. This doesn't hinder his eating though - this lad loves his grub! He is a bit messier than average though! Mischief is such a lovely boy. He adores a fuss and will nudge your hand if you don't give him enough attention.
When he first arrived at the RSPCA he spent all his time in his outdoor pen, but as he’s settled in, he has started to enjoy his home comforts and we often find him flat out in his big snuggly bed! So much so he’s now been transferred to our luxury accommodation where he’ll really be pampered! He has also started to play which is so nice to see - he loves chasing stringy toys and anything dangly he will try and bat with his paw.
Mischief has really become accustomed to the home comforts so will probably spend a fair amount of time inside but will still need outdoor access. He can live with children of secondary school age but he needs a home without any other animals.
If you are interested in adopting our gummy bear Mischief please complete our online application form: https://forms.gle/4VUFuxGEMyt7yw5V9 Please note, we are only a small team and as such we are only able to contact successful applicants.
