To my local followers. If you get any of these over the festive period, could you save them for me please as they are perfect for π¦ food bowls. Thank you. Happy Christmas from me and the π¦π¦ in the shed ππβοΈ
Some people overwhelm you with kindness. Thank you for your generous donation for the hogs ππ¦
Mr Spikey getting too excited at finding something tasty πThanks to my super hogmother Beth for the footage
Charlie out of the shed and free again π
Well that's Quisp off home after being treated for just about everything. At nearly 800g she was ready for the off. Good luck π€
Another two hogs released today. Do well Zebedee and Mr Spikey Both over 800g π€π¦π¦
Big shout out to Anne Marie for collecting goodies from school. Hello to our new followers, Jennifer Trees, Dani Louise and Janette Smith and to Tracy whi continues to support her hogs that are with me. I am ever grateful for the support of The hog shed ππ¦π¦
This we're talking hibernacula!
π π πͺ΅
These robust winter nests are essential for hibernating .
Made of dry leaves & vegetation, often built in hedges, log-piles or under sheds, they're surprisingly waterproof & insulated!

A good reason to let gardens go wild!
Bewley doesn't think much of his bath π«€
Three releases today. Good luck Kiki, Georgie and Midge. Thanks to Steve, Dave and Maureen for proving a safe space for them. Good luck kids π€
Wow! Overwhelmed by this fabulous drawing done for me by Heather Ritchie Art. Shall I keep it or raffle it for the hogs π€
A sad day in the shed today. Little Eric lost his fight against his massive parasite burden. Bishy brought in yesterday was lame. A trip to the vets and a break to the femur meant he was pts. Sleep well babies. No more suffering. Here's a pic of today's arrival Lemmy who is in poor body condition and dehydrated. By tonight he was tucking in to some supper. Parasite treatment starting
Ian when I went in the shed tonight. How cute is he! π₯°
Me again!
Like many people who live with autoimmune gremlins, I'm really grateful to nature and creativity for the clever knack they have of taking my mind off things without me even realising!
Everyday symptoms and looming hospital visits are pushed right out of my head every time I design on behalf of wildlife, especially if it's something new.
Anyway... I recently had a lupus checkup and this artwork was the result π
It's based on a wee doodle of mine that's been hiding in a sketchpad for ages. Hope you like it. If not, be warned - there's more on the way as I've got a rheumatology review next month π
I hope your day is a good one x
I can't take any new admissions at the moment

The cold weather is definitely kicking in now, but some hedgehogs still prefer to forage rather than hibernate. We have 2 regulars that hit our all-you-can-eat wildlife buffet every night throughout winter. π¦π
You might know that hibernate - but what does that mean?
is a complicated energy conservation strategy - it's not just 'going to sleep'! During hibernation 'hog's normal physiological activities slow right down.
π¦βοΈπ€
When hibernate varies, but it's usually around this time of year - as temperatures start to drop and remain low.
Find out more about how & why 'hogs hibernate here π

Looking to get a list of people who have suitable gardens to release into.
IDEAL GARDEN
Away from major roads, wildlife friendly (lots of undergrowth and bugs), no pesticides, hedgehog highways into neighbouring gardens, already have hogs visiting and food/water supply all year round. No dogs that are likely to pick up a hog.
If this sounds like you, please get in touch. We have hogs ready to go π¦π¦
Phew! Another busy day. Although full, I had to find space for 2 little ones. Eric is only 153g and was found wandering in a car park today. He is full of parasites. π€he can get through treatment. Fliss also out in the day and had a plastic tie around her. Thankfully she was picked up and brought to me. The nursery is so very full of sick babies. If you would like to help sponsor a baby, please get in touch.

Three releases last night. Tiny 2, Ace Ventura and Xavier. As you can see, Xavier came straight out of the box to check out her new garden. Later on, she met up with a little friend. Stay safe babies π₯°
