Hot weather and warm nights are amazing for us its been a long time coming!! However as much as your fish will also be loving this warmer time of year it is very important to ensure they have an adequate amount of oxygen available day & night, we have sadly had at least 4 customers in over the weekend that have lost most or all of their beloved fish due to lack of oxygen so its extremely important to add an air pump to your pond and leave it running 24/7 to make sure this does not happen to your fish, we have you covered here at Teesside Aquatics with a good range of air pumps and accessories to cover all ponds from very small to even the largest of koi ponds, dont take the chance and think it wont happen to my fish pop in and have a chat with us and we can advise on the best set up to suit your size pond

Quarantine will be done in a matter of days and all that have pre bought can collect and add to your ponds and enjoy them, we are looking at buying in another shipment in June so keep your eyes peeled for new arrivals.
It has been absolutely hectic lately so we would like to thank you all for your continued support it means the world to us.

New glass jump guards installed and looking fresh and much tidier than a cover net, so that finishes off the upgrades on the main show pond it looks so good we have decided to do the same on the 2 smaller square ponds.
The new koi have been selling nicely and a good amount of them are pre sold and will be ready to collect once quarantine is finished in about 10 days time so if you are looking for a new fish or two dont delay come and secure them now

Today is the day koi lovers 😃 🇯🇵
The new koi are in the air and on route to land at Heathrow airport about 7pm, providing there is no delays at customs we should have them back at the shop in the early hours of the morning and thats when the work begins of slowly acclimatising them to our quarantine systems which usually takes us around 3-5 hours, its going to be a long one for us but we absolutely love it and we love being able to bring you the very best koi from some of your favourite breeders in Japan.

A must have koi for any enthusiast to give that crisp white flash of colour that is so strikingly beautiful they will without doubt stand out among the crowd of gosanke you all know and love. There is a limited amount of 7 of them coming in from japan on our next shipment and i cant see them hanging around for long, due in on or around 15th may be sure to come in and check these bars of silver out for yourself

Another install completed by Teesside Aquatics to a stunning pond of around 4000 gallons, we installed the Oase compact L in the main filter pit in summer last year after pulling out his old nexus filter, installed new pipework from the bottom drain and installed a wall skimmer and new Oase uv’s, fast forward 7/8 months and the customer wanted something a little extra to accompany the filtration and decided on the sander 200 protein skimmer coupled with the ozone unit, an EA pressurised bead filter and digital water flow monitor, needless to say the water so ultra crystal clear you would be forgiven for wondering if theres actually water in the pond, i thoroughly enjoyed making this customers dreams come true with the install and a massive thanks to paul & rose for choosing us to work on this truly spectacular koi pond.

Almost completed the transformation from green to black, one more coat on the base and the top edges and allow to cure then we can fill it up, should be ready just in time for a new shipment of big koi arriving mid may !

New food range just arrived in store!!
Fujiyama probiotic, Yamato prebiotic and Medicarp.
We used to sell this food many years ago in our old shop and it was always a fantastic quality food and a great price considering it is of the finest quality, filled with only the very best ingredients and designed primarily for koi but can be fed to all types of pond fish, further more it has a high concentration of fish meal which as any koi keeper knows this is what is needed for good growth and vitality in your koi.
Come and grab your fish a bag I’m sure they will love you for it.

Morning everyone its that time of year again when you may possibly need to treat your pond against parasite's and infections and we have everything you need to accomplish this, from mild treatments like Acriflavine for bacterial infections right the way through to powdered fluke treatments its all in stock and ready to go, as with all thing's in spring as we begin to get longer lighting hours the blanket also begins to thrive so its not a bad idea to start putting your blanket w**d treatment in now and catching it early before it gets to severe and you have a right battle on your hands to get rid of the dreaded stuff, if you need any help or advice feel free to pop in and ask us what would be the best course of action for your beloved pond fish.

With spring finally here and the temperatures begin to rise so do your pond fish looking for something to eat, feeding wheatgerm is a good way to get them used to taking food again and to slowly start waking your dormant filtration bacteria without rattling your filters and causing unwanted nitrite and ammonia issues.
we have wheatgerm in stock and ready to go so why not pop down and slowly start introducing it to your beloved fish i am sure they will love you for it.
All our pond fish are fully quarantined and available for sale now but as a responsible fish keeper you must ensure your ponds water temperature is 10 degrees or above to give the fish the best start to this new season, we look forward to seeing new and old faces in store for 2024.
