I’ve just seen this post, please can people be aware that ‘kennel cough’ is contracted like the common cold & not from kennels. (The term kennel cough is used because it will spread through a kennel setting quickly)
Please be careful when out with your dogs, using communal water bowls & going to cafes & general public areas increases the chances of getting it & then if you bring your dog to us will then spread it to us. We will turn you away or send your dog home if you come with symptoms.
Please be mindful as this is not ideal for anyone.
ALERT FOR DOG OWNERS
Kennel Cough in dogs is on the increase again. The common misconception that dogs get it from kennels is wrong… they can get it anywhere
One owner has messaged and said
“We just had take our 1 year old vaccinated against kennel cough pup to vets as she was struggling to breathe due to a cough vet said its 15th she's had in last 3 days and a reminder if your dog has symptoms of kennel cough to not let them near any other dog and if possible not to walk them as it's highly contagious and can cause issues in pups and senior dogs”.
