Our Monday Intermediate group took to the roads this week to practice their loose lead walking 🤩

👀 Take a look at Charlie our Accredited Canine Hoopers Instructor and her dog George.

Charlie took some some time out from teaching Hoopers to develop her own dogs skills by taking part in a Hoopers workshop.

George takes one little detour during his run to try and get his toy reward from our teacher but quickly returned to complete the course...cheeky George!

This was a huge achievement for Charlie and George as often George lacks confidence to work at a distance. Taking time to build and strengthen their foundations for Hoopers has seen George's confidence and independence thrive achieving the distance handling we love in Hoopers.

Here is Autumn one of our stars of the week demonstrating her forwards drive.

Autumn was reluctant to drive forwards and found very little value when rewarded with food. We switched out the food treat for a toy and the value in the reward for Autumn was amazing.

Getting to know what motivates your dog is key.

Debbie and Rudy's Hooper's journey is a pleasure to see and be part of. Communication between Debbie and Rudy strengthens week on week seeing Rudy excelling whatever sequence is put in front of him. You are a star ⭐

Karen and Autumn gained star of the week for the hard work put into Autumns forwards drive. Autumn was struggling with her forwards drive so we switched out the food reward and replaced with a toy then there was no stopping Autumn. Keep your eyes peeled for our video of Autumn not only driving away passing through every hoop but coming back to Karen picking up every hoop on her return. You are a star ⭐

Chris and Bella have seen huge improvement in their relationship and bond since starting training with us and Bellas learnt to settle beautifully in class on her bed 💗

Alfie and Waffle are having lots of fun on their holidays 🐾

Alfie loves chasing pebbles in the sea and Waffle has been enjoying helping herself to blackberry’s along the coastal path 🐶

It's Robyn and today Robyns talking about 💛 yellow leads for dogs 💛
Yellow leads are a visual sign that dogs need extra space.
This could be down to nervousness, recovering from illness, being rehabilitated, or simply prefer not to share their space with others.

Spaces available on our Wednesday evening Hoopers for beginners course starting next week (Wednesday 7th September). The course is a weekly 1 hour in person training session over a period of 8 weeks at our training club in Silverdale, Stoke-On-Trent with our accredited Canine Hoopers UK Instructor Charlie (Charlotte). In addition to your sessions at the training club we encourage you to continue your training at home and we can together set homework for you and your dog that is fun and provides great enrichment for your dog. There will be an option during our final weeks session for you to take part in a no pressure assessment to achieve the Foundation Good Hoopers Award.

If the above date does not work for you our next Wednesday beginners course begins on Wednesday 8th November. If Wednesdays or evenings don't work for you we also have a beginners group starting on Saturday afternoons from 4th November.

Congratulations to our Star of the Week, Denny and his wonderful partner Su 🤩

Su and Denny have been doing 121 training with us to help Denny relax around other dogs 💕 this has been a hard and often emotional journey for them but their commitment to training is phenomenal and their bond and relationship a joy to witness 💕

Denny has come on such a long way since we started working together and this photo is just lovely as Su had the confidence and the training skills to cope in an environment which would previously be a huge trigger and worry for them so huge well done, we are all so proud of you both 🥰
