pending meet and greet :) - special home with cocker experience needed

meet woody, woody is a 3 year old cocker spaniel, woody has come in due to him not liking small children :(

we have been told woody is house trained, good with teenagers+ good with other dogs and he travels well but unknown for cats.

in the kennels woody is clean in his kennel, he can be unsure of strangers and does have to get to know people before he accepts them, he can kennel guard by barking at people to keep them away if he is unsure, once we go into woody he is fine with us and jumps up for attention and fusses, he is good on the lead when out and becomes very affectionate with us and does everything asked from him, overall woody is a good boy who does have a suspicious nature around strangers, we never overbare him we always let him come to us for what he wants or needs.

woody now needs an experienced furever home with an experienced owner who can give woody the home and space he needs, woody would also need a home where there aren't too many strangers coming in or around him, he would benefit from socializing around other dogs and people without people just going in to lunge at him for petting because this is what he is wary of and we will bark to push someone away unless he is comfortable with them, this itself is what can be overcome with some training and socializing.

meet sylvester, sylvester is a 6 year old staffie, sylvester came in via the dog warden service and he has not been re-claimed :(

due to sylvester being a stray this means we hold no history on him whatsoever :(

in the kennels sylvester is a very good boy for us, he is very friendly and affectionate, he is good on the lead also but can have a slight little pull, he is also clean in his kennel also but he just loves to be out of the kennel, he loves grass and will take us straight to the grass where as you can see he enjoys rolling around as much as he can in the sun!

overall in the kennels sylvester is a good boy with a lovely soft nature who just now needs his furever home!, he has not had much attention since he has been at all :( he is a really laid back boy who just chills most of the day.

meet oreo, oreo is a year old chihuahua, oreo came in via the dog warden service and he has not been re-claimed :(

about oreo, due to oreo being a stray this means we hold no history on him whatsoever :(

in the kennels oreo is a shy boy, he is very nervous of where he is :( oreo is clean in his kennel and good on the lead, we can pick up oreo out of the kennel and give him affection but we do have to lead walk him out so he is not so frightened first.

oreo now needs his furever home in an experienced home where his new potential owner has chihuahua experience, we wouldn't rehome oreo around small children because he could nip if frightened or provoked, overall oreo is a friendly boy but will protect himself if he feels threatened.

we do think oreo will be a lap dog for his new owner!

Meet daps, daps is an approx 5 year old x staffie, daps has come in via the dog warden service and he has not been re-claimed :(

in the kennels daps has been a good boy with us, he has always been friendly with staff and he is good on the lead also, however daps is a strong type staffie so he can and will jump up for a cuddle and rest his paws on you but he is gentle how he does it but he does have a strong build.

daps has been very clean in his kennel also and has always been affectionate with staff, he loves attention and loves to come in for a cuddle, we think daps now needs his furever home where he can get all the attention and exercise that he needs, we would say older children in case he knocks small children over when he needs attention

Meet willow, willow is a x staffie collie and willow will be 1 on 01/09/204

willow has come into us due to her owners working long hours and willow has been left on her own quite a bit, willow cannot also be rehomed around small children, older teenagers+ would be fine.

we have been told willow is house trained, travels well, good with cats and has lived with a cat but unknown for other dogs.

in the kennels willow is super clean in her kennel and she is also very good on the lead, willow is very affectionate also and enjoys attention, she does also have a curious nature when out of the kennel and she is very gentle with her ways and she always comes to staff when called to us!

we think willow would be suited to an older home with no small children or visiting children around.

lexi is already fully vaccinated and id chipped already- booster due november 24 and microchip can be changed by us 🙂

in the kennels lexi is super clean and she is excellent on the lead and all she wants is a fuss!, lexi loves kissing us and she loves to get really close to us!, we could not fault lexi here at all, she loves staff and she is a pleasure to work with!

PENDING MEET AND GREET - gentle jack

this old boy was found in caverswall as a stray :( no one has been in touch to collect him, we have now named him jack, we approximate his age as being 8/9

about jack, in the kennels jack has been a very clean boy here he makes no mess at all in the kennels unless in his run, he gets all giddy and excited and does a little dance at feed times!, he sleeps well in his bed and he has the most placid nature ever here!, he comes when called and he is very easy going on the lead, we can walk him with one finger on the lead he is that good here!, however on walks he will need to be securely held as we do not know his history.

jack now needs his furever home, we think jack will like a home where he can have an easy going like where he can plod around and take everything in his stride as he does here!

Meet lada, lada is an approx 12 month old xbreed, lada came in via the dog warden service and she has not been re-claimed :(

due to lada being a stray this means we hold no history on her whatsoever :(

lada probably has not had the best of homes before coming to us, she is extremely shy and timid and is wary of people, she has never shown aggression with us at all, lada is very affectionate with staff on her own terms, she likes to come to us for kisses but she still can be unsure of people, lada is good on the lead but she can halt for no reason if she hears something or becomes nervous :( she is clean in her kennel and a lovely girl to work with :)

lada now needs her furever home where she can feel comfortable with her new owner and her new owner will need time and patience to help bring her out of herself, we wouldn't re-home her around children because she does get frightened of noises and sharp movements

meet cooper, cooper is a 13 month old lurcher, cooper has come in because he cannot live with other pets at all :(

we have been told cooper is house trained, good with children and travels well but no for living with another pet, he is good going past other dogs but not in the house, he will need to be re-homed on his own.

in the kennels cooper is clean in the kennel, he is also very affectionate with staff and all he wants to do is play with us, he does like to please us and always tries to give us his paws, we have been told he can be left for short periods and he has already been crate trained so he can go have his own space at night. cooper can pull slightly on the lead and will need a little training with this.

meet lara, lara is an approx 1-2 year old x labrador, lara came in via the dog warden service and she has not been re-claimed :( wherever lara has come from she has been very well cared for previously.

due to lara being a stray this means we hold no history on her whatsoever :(

in the kennels lara does not make any mess at all in her sleeping area, she does everything outside and she is tidy in her kennel also, lara is good on the lead when she gets over her inital excited to come out phase! she really is cheeky in her nature!, she does however listen to us when she calms down and does know some commands also.

we think lara's previous owner may not have coped with her playful energetic nature, lara has always been very friendly with stiff and she possibly could go with another dog to keep her company and play with!, we think she would possibly enjoy that dependent on a meet and greet!

meet rufus, rufus is a 7 year old doberman, unfortunately rufus's owner couldn't cope, not with rufus but with other things :(

we have been told rufus is house trained, good with other dogs, children, travels well but no for cats.

in the kennels rufus is a good polite boy with us, he is clean in his kennel and we agree he has been house trained by how he is here, he can pull on the lead when on walks but staff members can easily hold him so he doesn't over pull us or pull us around, he can be talkative and he is very noticeable of his surroundings, he is also a foot sitter and likes to be close to those who care for him!.

now rufus needs his furever home, we would like him to go to an older family with doberman experience

atlas will now need a furever home where he can get the training and attention that he needs, he has a very playful nature and just needs a routine to get into and some good training.

Meet vevie and storm, vevie is 2 years old and storm is 5 years old, they have both come in due to the new landlord not allowing dogs :( :(

we have been asked to keep vevie and storm together for a new home.

we have been told they are both house trained, good with other dogs, children, cats and travel well.

in the kennels they are both very good with us and love and crave attention from us, they are very well behaved here and they are good on the leads, they are also clean in the kennel here also.
they are a lovely little duo :)

Meet lily, lily is a 1 year old shih tzu, lily did come in via the dog warden service and her owner told us to keep her :( :( lily did come in with another dog but he has now been re-homed.

in the kennels we could not fault lily at all, however she can and will bark at times for attention!.

with staff lily is very affectionate and loves and craves attention!, she loves people and she is good on the lead and clean in her kennel, she has previously been bred from and come into us underweight, she is now putting on weight.

lily now needs a very very special home where she can be very very spoilt with an owner who is around during the day!, we do not think lily would like to be left alone for long periods at all.

staff can easily pick up lily and give her fusses and attention and she absolutely loves that attention!

meet pirate, pirate is a 4 year old parti colored poodle, pirate has come in due to his owner being in hospital :(

due to pirates owner being very unwell we unfortunately hold no history on pirate at all.

Meet beenie, beenie is an approx 4 year old dachshund, beenie came in via the dog warden service and she has not been re-claimed :(

in the kennels beenie is very clean and she is excellent with staff and good on the lead, she is very affectionate with us but when she came in she did not like the vets looking at her, she did warn them off, she may have just been a bit frightened due to just coming in.

we think beenie needs an experienced home with an owner who has had dachshund experience before, we wouldn't rehome beenie around small children.

Meet axle, axle is a 4 year old yorkie, axle has come in due to no fault of his own.

we have been told axle is house trained, but everything else is unsure. we have rehomed axle since but he did come back to us, axle was good with his female owner and her female daughter but he was not sure of strangers in the house and he did bark at other dogs on a walk.

ever since axle has come into kennels it took him a week to come around to a female staff member, when he did he absolutely loved that staff member and enjoyed being picked up, cuddled and stroked etc, he was really good with his new owner but due to people coming in the house and the walks he did come back into us.

axle needs a home where he can be one on one with his owners and not have too many strangers around. he would need a little training also on walks, we do believe axle is protective of his owners once he has established his bearings in the new home. axle is however very well behaved with house training and being around his owners in the home.

Meet sting, sting is a 3 and a half year old ex racer, sting has now finished his career in racing, sting is however a larger greyhound, he is now ready to be re homed.

in the kennels sting is a good boy, he is clean in the kennel and good on the lead, he can pull slightly when he comes out because he thinks he's off out to work but when he is out he calms down and doesn't pull, he is a very nosy type always looking around, we have been told he was a good boy for staff in the other kennels.

sting maybe able to be re-homed around another similar sized dog or greyhound, however he wouldn't be able to be re-homed in an area with cats of neighboring cats just in case.

sting would need a home with a larger garden also.
