North Staffordshire Medical Institute

North Staffordshire Medical Institute Raising funds for local medical and surgical research grants. It was built at a cost of £100,000, which was raised by public appeal.

The North Staffordshire Medical institute was established in 1961 as an independent charity to provide funds for medical and surgical research and to facilitate medical education. Whilst the education and research aspects of our work continue to be funded by the charitable donations, the North Staffs Conference Centre operates as a registered charity with any surplus monies being used to fund medi

cal research and education in accordance with the terms of the trust. It can be hired at most attractive rates by individuals, groups, organisations or companies, whether medical or otherwise. The North Staffordshire Medical Institute was opened in 1965 and was the first purpose built Postgraduate Centre in Britain. In March 1969 under the patronage of the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire a successful appeal was launched and led to the building of the Research Unit originally sited at the rear of the Medical Institute housing general-purpose research laboratories, data-processing facilities, an Isotope Laboratory and the Department of Bio-Medical Engineering and Medical Physics. In 1997 a further successful appeal led to the building of the Industrial and Community Health Centre located within the Research Unit. In 2001, our Conference and Seminar building was completely refurbished by award-winning architects. This has continued and now provides a modern facility for displays, exhibitions, seminars, meetings, conferences and even social occasions. It contains lecture theatres and a range of flexible seminar and meeting rooms that can be provided with audio-visual equipment. There are also a number of informal seating areas, a snack bar and rooms for private dining, and most areas are air-conditioned.

We are truly the ideal venue for your next meeting, but do not just take our word for it!

Here is what Nigel of The Jaguar Enthusiast Club had to say:

How did you find our Conference Centre team today?
I would like you to pass on my sincere thanks to everyone involved with our Seminar. It was an excellent day in a great venue and the staff on the day – faultless.

Would you use our venue for future meetings?
Yes, undoubtedly. Already planned for another in September and hopefully more next year.

I repeat, an excellent day, a facility to be proud of and great staff.

All the very best to everyone and thanks again.
