Ever feel that itchy, scratchy feeling? Well so do our pets! It’s Itchy Pet Awareness Month, and we’ll be talking about itching in our furry friends🐾

One of the most common causes of scratching is parasites. Fleas, ticks, lice, and mites are all different types of creepy crawlies that are itchy. Medications are available to prevent and treat parasites, available as tablets or liquid ‘spot-ons’ applied on the back of the pet’s neck. Some animals are even allergic to these parasites and can have a strong reaction to even a single bite. Our Pet Health Club helps you stay on-top of parasite prevent💚

✨From Road to Recovery to Forever Home✨

This beautiful little lady came to us as a stray after sadly being involved in a road traffic accident leaving her with a very badly broken jaw. Just after admission she became known the team as Picasso. After emergency stabilisation, she was taken under the care from the very amazing Cheadle Animal Welfare. Shortly after she underwent a general anaesthetic to repair her jaw, along with a feeding tube so she could still receive food whilst her jaw was healing🩷

With lots of TLC, she made a truly amazing recovery! She has since been spayed and has her feeding tube removed! She has come on leaps and bounds, and the whole team have loved caring for her to see how well she is doing now🐾

We are so thrilled to see her safe and ready to enjoy her future😻💖

Blue-green algae can be toxic to dogs. ☢️

It may appear as scum or green paint on the surface of ponds or lakes, but even a small amount can cause dogs to become seriously ill. Keep them out of water that looks suspicious, and always check for warning signs when out on walks⚠
