Lime Trees Vets supply caring and professional veterinary services to pets in Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the Staffordshire Moorlands.

We also differ to local practices as we also offer referral services in small animal surgery and internal medicine at our hospital in Meir Park. We are fortunate enough to be the host practice for Vets Now, so you will not need to travel to a different veterinary practice as the out of hours service will be provided from Lime Trees Veterinary Hospital – Meir Park. 🍰🧁Lime Trees Bake Off!🍰🧁

Late last year the Lime Trees team took part in a friendly baking competition with one another. Part of the team made a range of cakes, brownies, flapjacks and many other different bakes! We thought we would share some of the bakes that was brought in, we can confirm they all tasted amazing!💚

🐾🐱STAFF PET STORY TIME!🐱🐾

Trixie was brought into our Meir Park Hospital by the police as a stray after being involved in a road traffic collision! After initial examination, it appeared Trixie's vision was altered, as well as having facial wounds, and some spinal discomfort. Therefore, the decision was made to hospitalise Trixie with some strong pain relief medications with the hopes of rehabilitating and rehoming her.

Trixie spent the Christmas period in the warmth and quiet of our hospital cattery, and after 3 weeks of medication and TLC, she was suitable for rehoming - and her vision appeared to have improved! During her stay, one of our vets really bonded with little Trixie, and the decision was made that they would foster her until a suitable adopter was found...

Our vet found even more love for Trixie after fostering and made the decision that Trixie would not be leaving their home, and opted to adopt her from the charity! Trixie now lives a very happy and normal life (despite her odd neurological quirks!) in a new and happy home for many years to come!💚

However these items can be toxic to our furry friends and cause a range of different symptoms and sometimes life threatening health issues. Meet the lovely Peanut - a 1 year old Labrador Retriever who came to see us last week for his 2nd vaccinations and a Suprelorin injection. A Suprelorin injection is offered as an alternative to routine neutering under general anaesthetic. Once the patient has had they injection it makes them temporarily infertile. The implant is injected under the skin and can be done during a vet consultation.

Peanut was so oblivious to his injection he was that busy enjoying licking his peanut butter of a spoon! He was a very good boy! To find out if this is suitable for your pet please call to book a consultation to see on of our vets to find out more!💚

Meet Freddie! Freddie is an adorable little man who recently came in to see nurse Hannah for his second vaccinations! Freddie enjoyed his trip to the vets and is better set up to be protected from some of the nasty diseases which could have affected him.

We really enjoyed seeing Freddie, and look forward to seeing him again for his 3rd vaccination, and 6 monthly health check! 🩺💚

Our hospital has been re accredited as an ISFM Cat Friendly Silver Clinic! ISFM is the International Society of Feline Medicine. They promote high standards of cat care and have an award scheme with three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. These awards reflect the level of facilities and steps taken to make a vet practice as cat friendly as possible.

What does an ISFM Silver Clinic mean?
- Our cat only ward has a radio playing classical music aiding in reduction of noise from the hospital environment. As well as Feliway pheromone plug ins, hideaways in kennels and bedding used only for cats.
- A range of equipment such as in-house laboratory, dental suite, ultrasound scanner and x-ray suite and many other services.
- Our staff engage with Continuous Professional Development to stay up to date with further Cat Friendly handling in the clinic.
- We use cat friendly handling techniques to minimize stress levels for cats.
- Our waiting rooms have shelves for your cat carrier. This means they can look out from a height whilst also preventing disease transmission.

We are very proud of our clinic and will continue to take any steps necessary to provide the highest standard of veterinary care for all cats seen in practice in the most comfortable environment possible😺😻

Time to meet another one of our amazing Veterinary Nurses Beck! She joined the Lime Trees Family back in August 2021 as a Student Veterinary Nurse and as of September 2024 she is now a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse. We are all very proud of how Beck has progressed, she has become an amazing nurse and the team would not be the same without her!💚

Beck most enjoys working her ops shifts - monitoring patients for sedations and general anaesthetics. She also cannot resist any small furies that come into practice🐹🐭🐰

In her spare time Beck enjoys many hobbies! She enjoys horse riding and archery (sometimes even at the same time), needle felting and a good book. When not doing these things she is taking long walks with her Staffy Rosie! 🐶🐎
