We are fortunate enough to be the host practice for Vets Now, so you will not need to travel to a different veterinary practice as the out of hours service will be provided from Lime Trees Veterinary Hospital – Meir Park. We are giving you the opportunity to invite you to another series of our client education evenings. In these evenings you will get to learn a variety of topics and what we can do as vets and owners to improve your cat's health and welfare. Our first in the series is ‘Stress in Feline Friends’. We are holding two of these evenings one at our Meir Park practice and one at our Cat Clinic🙌

Stress in cats can often be difficult to identify, as they are often very good at hiding these signs at home. Maybe you have noticed your cat is scratching the furniture more or spending more time in the airing cupboard. Maybe they have started eating more or vocalising more often. All of these can be subtle signs and can indicate that your cat may be stressed. Come and learn from our Lime Trees Cat Team and outside experts about the subtle signs of stress in cats, how we can make our feline friend’s life more stress free, how you can reduce stress levels when travelling and how Lime Trees Cat Clinic can improve your feline friend’s visit to the vets😻

😍Isla😍

This absolutely beautiful little lady came to see our wonderful Vet Jessica (giving her a big snuggle here in the picture) for a health check a few weeks ago! Isla is a 10 week old German Shepherd, she is doing really well and we will soon see her back for her 2nd Vaccinations😄

Whilst she was with us her parents signed her up to the PHC Essential Plan! Which covers her preventative health care concerns❤

The very handsome Ranger - a 10 month old Sprocker came to visit us a few weeks ago as his owners suspected a ear infection. When he was with us he was absolutely dazzled by our consultation room lights! 🤩💡

Ranger had a full health check and some swabs taken by from both ears so our vet Pati could examine the sample under the microscope! The sample determined that Ranger had a yeast infection. Medication and ear cleaner were dispensed and a swab was also sent to an external lab for culture and sensitivity test (C+S). The C+S test is able to identify the cause of infection and determine the best treatment.

We have since seen Ranger for a recheck and glad to say he is doing so much better! This is amazing news!🩷💚

💚Meet the team!💚

The lovely Fiona is part of our Medicine Referral Team after joining the Lime Trees team back in 2023! Fiona qualified from the University of Liverpool in 2006 and developed an interest in small animal medicine and imagine (ultrasound in particular) whilst working in a first opinion practice. Additionally Fiona completed her General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in Small Animal Medicine in 2016.

Fiona has been an amazing addition to our team, always helping when needed and bringing smiles to all around her🥰 Here at Lime Trees she most enjoys the detective process of working with owners and patients to understand what is affecting them to the diagnose conditions and maximise quality of life for our patients🩷

Outside of work Fiona is very busy with her two children, but still finds time to explore the Shropshire countryside. She also has a Bengal cat called Stacey, who is the boss of the household!💚🐱

Here at our Lime Trees Meir Park Clinic, we offer a socialisation clinic with our Veterinary Nurses. Socialisation in dogs helps them develop confidence and aids them in how to react in new situations in a healthy way. These consults can help dogs understand what to expect when coming to the vets. We recommended socialisation clinics to puppies to aid them in acclimatising to the environment for future vet visits. But these can also benefit dogs of all ages!🐶

What do we do in our visits?
- An extended consult of 30 minutes at a quieter time in practice. The first consult is mainly an introduction to the practice, free roam in the consult room and given a positive reward (treats!) to create a positive experience of being at the vets!🩺
- Throughout these sessions our Nurses can introduce various types of equipment into the consult. For example, stethoscopes, microchip scanner, nail clippers, injectable equipment and getting them used to being on the scales. This may help for future vet visits as it can reduce their levels of fear and anxiety🩷
- Additionally, our nurses can help introduce forms of contact with your dogs. This includes touching of the ears, feet and all over body examination, hopefully reducing any surprises in the future!😀

🐭Pumpkin and Patch🐭

These two very cute rats came to see us lately as their owner was concerned regarding some wheezy and sneezy symptoms! After a health check, they were both diagnosed with upper respiratory tract irritation. Some medication was dispensed with a recheck consultation in a weeks time. They have since been to see us again and are both doing a lot better, which is very amazing news!💚

Meet Pati! One of our Veterinarians who joined the team in April last year and became fully qualified in 2019! Pati slotted right into the Lime Trees team, and is a very kind a lovely soul to have working with us all in practice!🥰

Pati most enjoys imaging and working up internal medicine cases and helping them get better. She is also currently doing her certificate in advanced imaging👩‍🎓

In her spare time Pati has a variety of hobbies such as Olympic weight lifting, attending live music events and hiking. She also has a very beloved furry friend, a cross breed called Suzie who lives back at home in Poland💪🐶💚
