Prince & Elsa
🐾 We recently saw Prince & Elsa 🐾
They came in to see our nurse Grace for Prince's final post-operative check 🩺
They can't wait to be allowed to wrestle and run off lead again! Elsa knows many tricks & loves to show off - Especially 'spin' ✨
We look forward to seeing them both again ❤
Antibiotic Amnesty Week
This week is Antibiotic Amnesty Week running from 18th to 24th November by the British Veterinary Nursing Association.
The BVNA have put together a very informative video below to see the struggles that are faced with the over use of antibiotics in pets and the damage these medications cause to the planet when not disposing of them correctly.
Did you know?
Out of 500 patients who had antibiotics prescribed:
- 14% had leftovers
- 8% returned them to a pharmacy or veterinary clinic for safe disposal
- 1/3 threw them away
- 1/3 were kept for reuse
A report also shows that 63% of medicines get discarded in regular househould waste and 11% are discarded down the toilets and sicks!

Mobility March! 💚
We all understand that a lot of mobility problems are chronic and will never go away. For diseases such as arthritis there is no cure; however multimodal treatments and acting on the signs and symptoms quicky for an early diagnosis can help improve quality of life and keep dogs active for longer.
The nurses at Lime Trees Vets have been working hard to devise a brand new clinic called Mobility Matters. This clinic aims to help highlight any mobility problems you have noticed in your dogs. Please watch the video below where our wonderful RVN Holly explains what this brand new clinic is all about.
If you would like to book an appointment with a nurse please contact us on 01782 385285. Any clients who are on our Pet Plus Membership all of your nurse appointments are included. If a vet consultation is needed you are more than welcome to use one of your free consultation allocations. 🐾

When walking your dog in the dark, make sure you stay visible to cyclists and drivers. Reflective or high-visibility clothing can help. You could also try attaching a light to your dog’s collar. 🐾🔦
We recommend blood pressure monitoring for all cats over the age of 7 years, for those with chronic kidney failure, and for those with hyperthyroidism. Does your cat fit into any of these categories?
Perhaps your cat isn’t ‘just getting old’. A simple test can diagnose high blood pressure and there is so much we can do to help, please just ask.
Canine mitral valve disease is a degenerative disease of the heart which progresses and worsens over time. It is never a pleasant diagnosis; however, we can help you make your dog’s journey with this condition as easy as possible.
