Chocolate is toxic to our canine friends!🐾

The ASPCA have made a lovely poster explaining how the toxic dose varies by the weight of your pet. Although this is not an excuse to give them any at all.
A regular dog treat is enough for them during the Easter period, to join us in celebrating 🍫🐶

If your pet eats chocolate accidentally please call us as this is an emergency!

PLEASE SHARE!
Unfortunately this Saturday a Good Samaritan picked up a young kitten from the middle of the road after being hit by a car and brought her to us for treatment. Sadly the kitten was in a very bad way and had to be euthanised.

The kitten looked to be around 8 weeks old. No microchip or collar.

She was found in middlewich and I believe the Good Samaritan has already been posting about this to local community groups.

If you believe that this is your cat please get in touch with us and provide images so that we can let you know if the description matches. We are open Tuesday - Thursday.

Easter is fast approaching!! 🐰
Are you thinking about giving a bunny a home? Please consider these facts first. Rabbits are around a 12 year commitment with various diet and housing needs, and if not met can be detrimental to them.

Keep your eyes peeled for out next post containing the information on how much space a rabbit should have to live in... a hutch isn't enough.

🐱Is your cat microchipped?🐱
Did you know that on the 10th June 2024 that all cats must be microchipped by the age of 20 weeks old and owners can be fined £500 if their pet isnt chipped!

All of our sites at County Vet Group are here to help, so if you are unsure if your pet is chipped please call us and we can arrange to scan your pet to check. If a microchip implant is needed we can do this at the time of seeing your pet.

And remember... at our Alsager branch we runs nurse clinics for the full day on Wednesdays where we can offer the microchip implantation service for you!

Here is the link to the government website for more information, but feel free to ask us too!

It is the first week of Pet Dental Health Month!! Have you collected your free dental pack from us yet? 😁

Here are some top tips to keep your pets smile looking pearly white!
- Regularly brushing their teeth (2-4 times a week is gold standard!) with a soft bristled brush and pet toothpaste
- A healthy balanced diet to include…
~No sugary snacks
~A dental focused diet
~Dental chews and treats (not too often as these can contain a high amount of
calories so please read the labels before you buy!)
~Regular checks with the vet and nurse
- And beware of teeth wrecking toys/chews - hard toys can cause fractured and broken teeth!
