On World Chocolate Day, it's sensible to keep in mind that chocolate is poisonous to our canine friends.

Try to keep chocolate out of reach of your dog, but if an accident does happen, these are the symptoms you should keep an eye out for.

The poison itself takes between 4 and 24 hours to cause signs which include:
🍫 Muscle stiffness
🍫 Tremors
🍫 Vomiting
🍫 Heart arrhythmias and fitting

If you see your dog has eaten chocolate or spot any of these symptoms, call your vet immediately.

The fastest land mammal
You’d be forgiven for thinking it’s the cheetah, but asking your dog what they have in their mouth is guaranteed to produce warp speed. 🐕🚀 Sometimes it’s a toy... sometimes it’s something you’d really rather not know about. 🤢 Not all stolen treasures are edible, so if they’re sprinting away with something weird, check twice before it becomes a vet visit!

Sunday 6 July - International Kissing Day

Some pets love to smother us with wet-nosed (or wet-tongued!) kisses, while others prefer to show us their love from a respectful distance. Always let your pet decide how they show affection, and respect their boundaries if they’re uncomfortable.

Will you get kisses or hisses this International Kissing Day?

Pet Sun Cream Awareness
Did you know? Human suncream is toxic to our pets. Don’t worry though, pet safe suncream is available to protect your pets from sunburn. We would recommend applying pet safe suncream to any parts of your pet that has pink skin showing on sunny days if they spend time outside - white or black and white cats with white ears are a prime example! Unprotected continued exposure to the sun can lead to skin cancer
