Paws In The Paddock has now reached 1000 followers 🥳

When I think back to March 8th 2024 when I first opened the paddock gate and Woody, Charlie, Ruby and Molly were the first paws to book in to try it out, I never really expected it to take off the way it has. I had never used Facebook before but with Tilly’s help she taught me how to navigate my way round it, even though I still get confused by tagging and sharing but she is always there to put me right. I’m ok with messenger but TikTok and Instagram are still a bit alien to me 🤗
From the paddock, I opened the two boarding kennels, not intentionally but because I offered to look after lovely Finn because his pawrents were going to a wedding for the weekend and really didn’t want to leave him I offered and that planted the seed. I opened one kennel (Paws Hotel) to boarding or doggy daycare where I began getting a steady stream of paws booking in. I was happy to only have one kennel until Sandy and Rolo’s Mum contacted me to see if I could look after them. It was short notice and the kennel was already booked. They thought they would have to cancel so at the last minute Sam build a new kennel for our Rosie leaving 2 for boarding rather than one. The holiday was back on and we were able to look after Sandy and Rolo for a week.
Now that’s it is winter and I’ve not been able to hire the Paddock out due to it being too wet I came up with the idea of farm walks. Ant the lovely Labrador is a regular and he also comes now and again for day care.
I can’t believe how well Paws In The Paddock is going and already I’ve lots of bookings for the kennels this year.
I’ve no intentions to go bigger and am sticking with the two kennels ….. paws are treated as our own when they are in our care and just having two kennels lets us do just that ….. plenty of walks and paddock play time … paws spend far more time out of the kennels than they do in.
The only new venture this year will be two camping plots for caravans/motorhomes for ‘Wild camping’ (off grid) ….. work in progress at the minute but hopefully it will be open in Spring along with the secure paddock again.

Thankyou to everyone that has followed, supported and become friends with us ….. we are very grateful. Circumstances changed our direction on the farm after we tradgically lost my brother in law four years ago at the end of this month and it’s taken a long time for us to move forward and think of other ways since we no longer milk cows but finally I think we are coming out the other side 🥰

Just another duvet day for Truffy. After a reluctant trip to the paddock carefully trying to place his paws like a ballerina practicing for Swan Lake he quickly does his necessaries before heading back in the direction of the gate with no left or right turns and straight back inside. After a quick shake and his biscuit treat it wasn’t long before he was curled back up in his basket in the indent that he had made from his over regular use …… Anyway he thinks he’s earned it. He’s no wellies to protect his paws and a couple more inches of snow things would be far different you would need a search party to find him as he dramatically tells me turning his back on me in disgust for even putting him through the trauma of needing to go out for a 💩 in such extreme weather conditions!! I’ve told him in no uncertain terms …. Less of the cheek…. Or he may find his head down a rabbit hole in search of Farmer Phil’s dinner!! 🤭 He’s more like
a Yorkshire Pudding than a Yorkshire Terrier!!

Doggy Day Care at Paws In The Paddock….. £25 per day/ £15 half day per dog.
We offer more than just daycare for your four legged fur babies. We only have two kennels which means my daughter and I can spend the day walking over the farm along with paddock playtime where they get chance to run free in a secure paddock. We have a lovely spaniel , Rosie who is very friendly and joins in on the walks and paddock time. In other words your paws are treated like our own while they are in our care …. The day is spent swapping between walks then a rest, paddock time then a rest from when they arrive to when they leave which means they spend a lot more time out of the kennel than in it …..
We have enjoyed having our regular visitor, Merlin, today as the photos show. He loves his day with Rosie and is more than happy to be left with us then at the end of the day so excited to see Mum. Paws don’t have time to fret or get bored here 🤗

New Year Walks ….
Get off your bums and trim those tums….
The paddock is too wet at the minute and only fit for swimming lessons for ducks but why not try the farm walk instead. Book your one and a half hour slot and follow the map over the fields to two ponds with benches. A few upbanks and downbanks but you will feel so much better for doing it. Go at your own speed, turn back if you have had enough but I don’t think you will. No other dogs or humans …. Just yourselves. So come on give it a go and let’s sort out the Boy Scouts from the bean sprouts and the Girl Guides from the Deep Fryed when it comes to following a map ….. just because it’s winter it doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the great outdoors 🤭
Beautiful Ant and his lovely family enjoy the walk and have become our regulars …. 🤗

Walk number two was just Bruno and I …. We didn’t go over the fields we went down the lane, took a bin bag and almost filled it with rubbish, mainly cans and bottles. Then I came to a left over pile of a diy project …. Too much for my bag …. Scroll through the photos.

Advent …..Day 25 or Day 1🤔 Im not sure as Christmas Day is almost over and will soon be as far away as it will ever be. We know it’s Christmas when the almost 50 yr old skittle table bought for Farmer Phil as a child comes out and it’s the only day of the year the farm gate stays locked …. Hope you all had a lovely day ….. we did. It is now time for pjs, chocolate, a nice cup of tea and the tv ….. that’ll do for me 🥰

Miss Smiley Rosie enjoyed her first farm walk today. She is a regular to the paddock but loved the walked even more. Lots of open space all to herself to enjoy and burn off energy before her dreaded bath and groom at home after 🤗
