Mary, who runs this business is a skilled and experienced dog groomer who works from our purpose built, newly refurbished log cabin situated in Swan Bank, Talke. Mary first began dog grooming some 30 years ago when she started learning the trade at her mother-in-laws dog grooming salon,
where she learnt everything there is to know about grooming and pet care. Since then, Mary has completed expert in-house training at some of the countries most well known grooming academies. A low stress, safe and sanitary environment is Mary's top priority and each of the grooming products we use are amongst the best in the industry, from herbal shampoos, to medicated sprays to tailor your dogs specific needs. Mary is experienced in all breeds and has the knowledge to exemplify your pet's best qualities, whether you seek a simple and functional trim, a hand scissored trim, full styling or a specialised hand stripping. Health matters:
For all new customers we will ask you to arrive 10 minutes prior to your allotted slot to fill out a basic record card, informing us of your dogs age, any health problems that your dog may have, any allergies, skin conditions and also the dogs temperament. Mary will examine every dog for lumps and bumps during the groom and should anything be found we will notify you upon collection. Grooming sick and elderly dogs will be at the owner’s risk but we reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog if we consider that it is too unwell to proceed. Matted coats
At top dog we groom as gently and humanely as possible and for this reason we will attempt to de-mat a coat only once, and only if we feel that the animal will not suffer pain, abiding by the Animal Welfare Act. A severely matted coat can promote severe itching, painful hotspots and sores, fungal & bacterial infections, mites & lice as well as eye and ear infections on your dog. If any information is needed, Mary is always more than happy to show you how to look after your dog’s coat. Please note: our normal grooming charge does not include de-matting, any de-matting will be charged for as an extra. Booking an appointment

I am sure you will appreciate that as every appointment is made in an allocated time, please can you ensure that you arrive and collect promptly. We also ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice for cancellations.
