A day that truly feels like spring has arrived 👌

Our first homebred Albarosa Sovereign (Tabby) - Full TB Filly out of Stateside by Firestick, had a bridle on for the first time today (which also happens to be her mums bridle) and had a lunge, which of course she just took in her stride ❤️

We had the caslick removed from Azteca the first mare due to foal as she hits 320 days today. She is in foal to my dear Briarwood Revolution.

Whilst Pheobe was here we also scanned our first couple of mares which turned into perfect timing as we were able to order the first lot of semen for insemination tomorrow 👏🙌 the second mare isn't too far behind with plans to inseminate next week all being well!

And finally all the horses worked super in the sunshine 🌞 Firestick especially feeling on top form after a very quiet winter recovering from his Peritonitus and heart/lung infection in August! Think I might rename him Tigger as he just seems to want to bounce everywhere at the moment!

**** Hunter Livery ****

From 1st June 2025 - 1st April 2026 we will be offering limited spaces for hunter livery.

What is included:
* Getting the hunters fit for the season ahead and keeping them fit throughout the season.
* Regular clipping and tidying sessions.
* All pre hunt day prep including bathing, plaiting up and tack cleaning, so all you have to do is load them up and head off.
* Post hunt day wash offs and check overs.
* Roughing them off at the end of season.
* Dealing with Farrier, vets and physios as and when needed (although farrier, vet and physio fees will be billed separately to livery)
* We can also offer the option to hunt young/inexperienced horses to get them used to the what's happening before you take over the reins yourself.
*Please note caps and subscriptions are not included in livery fee.

We are well positioned with many hunting packs being within an hour drive from us.

Yesterday saw me heading out to do something a little different!

A lovely outing to Escrick for a 22km EGB ride on Lucy for her owner Janet who accompanied us on her other superstar horse flash. This was Lucy's first endurance outing, and it was an enjoyable day!

Firestick thoroughly enjoyed a play in this afternoons warm sun 🌞

He's looking and feeling super coming out of winter and very much gearing up ready for some trips out soon alongside his stud duties for the year!

He is available fresh and chilled throughout the stud season.

Two of our future stud stars!

Rising 2yr old trakenher C**t "Lil Graff" (Grafenstolz x Abdullah x Abentanz) on the left and 3yr old TB C**t "Sharp Sands" (Sands of Mali x Kodiac) on the right!

We are looking at offering Sharp Sands for stud duties to an extremely limited number of mares in 2025! He is a very exciting prospect, with the most incredible laid back temperament and excellent paces to match 👏 currently standing at 16hh, he should add a little more height onto mares than our current TB Stallion Firestick, who is also available for stud duties in 2025.

Happy new year from the team here at Albarosa Stud!

2025 is set to be an exciting year.

We do currently have 1 stable available for ridden livery packages, from holiday to backing to competition and training.

Lessons and freelance ridden sessions are available from 2nd January 2025 onwards.
£25 for private 45min lessons and £30 for freelance ridden sessions.

Stud package information will be following in the next couple of weeks.

A rather wet and windy start to the day!

The first two of the day working on their rehab - the first horse had been treated for kissing spine, so work over poles and bending making sure they work correctly over her back and her frame to build muscle up correctly to support her spine, and the second horse of the day was Firestick building up his strength and fitness out on the roads! A nice 1hr 30 hack out in the wind and rain was exactly what we both needed 🙌
Then back home, a change of waterproofs then onto the babies!
