Coburn Fasteners Ltd are going green
Recently we were approached by a valued customer to spearhead their global directive to reduce plastic packaging from their portfolio. There were several parameters that had to be met to ensure that the responsibility was taken away from end users to recycle responsibly and this meant using 100% biodegradable packing materials.
We took this project and applied the same level of attention to detail we have to all tasks and not only reduced the amount of plastic but completely eradicated it, we identified several factors that may result in the packaging not being recycled or would have meant that it would require processing before being recycled ie Tape, labels and sourced biodegradable alternatives to these aswell.
In an attempt to reduce the impact we have on the planet we have decided to implement this across our business along with several other changes to include natural eco-friendly cleaning products, more efficient heaters. This might be a small attempt by a small business to make the world better but we know that small ripples have for reaching effects further down the line and we plan on being here for long enough to make a difference.
