Quick update on Nigel. He is absolutely loving life. He still hasn't had any seizures or episodes of incontinence. He is living his best life with his sister Star and all his friends that come to visit. He has mastered getting in and out of his bed himself with ease but still loves a snuggle on the sofa when he can or with Star. They are so close, it's lovely to see. Just shows dogs with different disabilities can live happily together helping each other.
I am so lucky to have the chance to witness their determination, kindness, love, and silliness.

Meet Darcy. She's one of our older doggies who was in need of help with confidence.

Who says you can't teach old dogs new tricks!

She's such a good girl, who has overcome her shyness and has become happily part of the pack. I'm so proud of her. She just needed time and patience (and a good group of dogs!)
Darcy is an excellent companion dog as well who loves driving around in the van picking up/dropping off other dogs.

Introducing the babies (as I call them). Luigi, Margot, Lennon and Sybil. These little pugs have the biggest personalities and loving characters. I've been looking after them for quite a while now and I so look forward to my time with them.

The beautiful Raki and Oaky. These boys have well and truly stolen my heart. Beautiful boys inside and out.
I got to chaperone them at their mum and dad's wedding, it was a beautiful day and so lovely they included the boys in the big day!

Quick update on Nigel.
He is getting used to his wheels and used to being upright more often than not. He is growing so fast and getting heavy to carry. So he has to get used to his wheels for his sake and ours.
If anyone has any questions fire away. I will try to answer them, I get alot of private messages with questions about him.

Just a quick update on Nigel's progress as people keep asking me how he is getting on.
He is getting so much stronger and building great muscle which is helping him work out how to keep his balance for longer.

Disability doesn't have to be a death sentence.

He is so happy and pleased with himself.

🥰 Nigel has his new wheels. It's going to take a long time for him to get used to them and build up strength but he's on the way! If anyone has any spare cash and would like to donate to this amazing charity please have a look on their page

Star has excepted Nigel straight away she moves slower around him so she doesn't step on him by accident and she sits by him to keep him company. Strange how she knows he is different even though she can't see or hear him. Best friends 🧡

Sorry I've been so quiet lately. It has been super busy, and to top it all off we have took on another disabled dog to be part of our family and a little brother for Star.
His name is Nigel (he came to us with that name)
He has Cerabellar Hyperplasia, which means basically he struggles to walk properly as his brain isn't wired correctly. He is only a puppy and we are working daily with him to build his strength, muscles and build new brain links.

Scary stuff!

URGENT… PLEASE TAKE CARE
This morning at 9.30am on Castle Hill Park, between Beaumont Leys and Anstey Leicester a serious attack took place by thieves attempting to steal dogs.
A man and a woman, so you would think ok?
One of our volunteers partners was walking their 4 little terriers (all EMDR dogs) when he was attacked with a machete, sustaining severe injuries to his arm, two broken fingers, hit over the head, kicked and punched. He is now awaiting surgery.
Miraculously he held onto the dogs, who at this point were covered in their owners blood.
A similar situation was reported by a lone female dog Walker a couple of weeks ago who managed to get help from a nearby house.
Police obviously aware but members of the public please be vigilant.
Dog thieves are prepared to attack to get what they want

Not for the faint hearted. ⚠️Trigger warning ⚠️

Thought I would video our snake eating a extra large mouse from start to finish, incase anyone hasn't seen it before or was interested in how they do it.
A snake can regurgitate food at any time if they feel threatened or scared at all so you must not disturb or try to pick up a snake while it is eating.
