My name is Nicola Perricone and I am the Salon owner and Educator of K9 Boutique. I have been working as a successful dog groomer since 2013 and own a quiet, well-maintained salon in Hitchin, Hertfordshire and have recently expanded the business to include a second salon in Stotfold, Hertfordshire. Aside from grooming dogs I have a young family, which also includes the inspirations for this ventur

e, a Pug Cross named Rex and a Silver Standard Poodle called Ruby in which i regually compete in dog grooming competitions .

I strive to deliver the best service for clients and students. I am passionate about what I do, so whether it is new equipment or the latest techniques, I am constantly looking at ways to develop the business ,myself and my staff members.. After completing my City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in dog grooming I then completed my Level 3 Diploma with Open College Network West Midlands. I am now at the highest level of grooming and am an International Certified Master Groomer (ICMG)
​We follow a strict code of conduct and are always continuing professional development. The training academy is an approved centre for ICMG and offers a variety of courses ranging from foundation level to Certified Professional in Dog Grooming. We welcome all breeds, large and small and before every appointment there is always a consultation with the customer to understand what you would like from your groom. Whether it is a certain style or a type of product that you would like used, you can choose from a wide range of professional, natural and cruelty free products. I have a fantastic team who i have taught myself .Our aim is to make sure the customer and their pet leave K9 Boutique feeling relaxed about their time in the salon and pleased with the final result.

Hey Everyone.

So I wanted to share some good and bad news with everyone.

After 12 wonderful years of building and growing such a wonderful business and meeting such wonderful people and pets.
I’m afraid to share that the business is closing.
It was always in my plan to shut the business down when we start an extension and to be honest I have now come to a point in my life where I need a change.
The decision hasn’t come lightly and have taken 12 months deciding this but
A change in a new direction is what I so long desire.

So to start.
The business will be closing at the end of January so still time for one more groom before I close 🙂
The working days in January will be a Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday where myself and Charlotte will be working.

Matt has been with us a while now and will be leaving us at Christmas.
He has a wonderful salon located in baldock and Charlotte will be joining him in the future.

The good news. I have found the most amazing career I could have ever dreamed off and am starting to take time away from the salon so I can find my feet in my new career.
I know you would all like to know where I’ll be heading so:

I’m going to be working for a lovely school called learning to listen.
I’m to be an equine/canine mentor for children aged 8-18years and teaching life skills .
Not only do I get to teach the children equine but I can in-cooperate dog grooming skills into this 🙂 so all is not lost.
It’s such a rewarding career and cannot wait to be apart of it.

Dear stotfold customers.
As of 1st March 2024 we will now be located at the hitchin premises only!
The hitchin salon is located 7 minutes away from the stotfold salon so is not too far for our existing customers to travel.

We have loved being over at stotfold but we have come to the realisation that we trade a lot more from the hitchin branch.

The salon in hitchin is open 5 days a week and has plenty of parking outside and located just down the wilbury hills road.

We hope that this doesn’t disrupt you too much and hope that you will still support our small business.

A warm and friendly welcome from K9 Boutique. My name is Nicky Perricone I am the owner and stylist of K9 Boutique I have been working as a successful dog groomer for over 7 years and own a quiet, well maintained salon in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Aside from grooming dogs I have a young family which also includes the inspiration for this venture, our own resident K9, Rex. He is very friendly and enjoys having new visitors but does like to talk alot! I love all animals and have done since a very young age. I have always been surrounded by horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, but my passion is dogs and thats why I love being a dog groomer! After completing my city and guilds Level 3 Diploma in dog grooming and opening the salon 7 years ago I have never looked back. I thrive to deliver the best possible service and offer one on one grooming in a relaxed environment. After your pooch has been groomed and if the weather is dry or sunny, I allow them to play in an enclosed garden, just so they feel that little bit more at home. Using a range of professional quality products enables me to ensure your pooch is receiving the right treatment for their coat type. I welcome all breeds, large and small. Before every appointment there is always a consultation with the customer to understand what you would like from your groom.
