Update! We have found a loving home for this lovely kitten 🐾❤️

‼️Does anyone recognise me? ‼️

We had this young kitten brought into ourselves earlier today. Found locally.
As you can see they require treatment so we would really like to find their owner.
They have received emergency treatment and are currently comfortable.
Please share and hopefully we can reunite them with their owner.

‼️HIGH TEMPERATURES‼️
Just when we thought the summer was on its way out the temperatures are rising again!
Remember to keep your pets cool and make sure they have plenty of fresh water. Avoid walking dogs at peak hot times and an eye on any outdoor kitties.
It’s not only the temperature we need to look out for, our fur babies can get sunburnt too! Especially those with light coloured coats, or no coats at all!
Keep them sheltered and look into pet friendly suncreams to be safe ☀️

This lovely lady is Elsie ❤️
Yesterday she visited us for a dental 🦷🪥
Our dental packages range from just a scale and polish up to a ‘major dental’.
As part of each dental package your pet receives dental x-rays,this highlights any teeth that may outwardly not look like a problem. This helps reduce the need for future procedures.

It is important to look after your pets teeth like you would your own -
🦷Brush daily with an enzymatic pet toothpaste. If you are just starting out get them used to having the toothpaste in their mouth, the enzymatic nature of the paste will help just being in the mouth. A way to get them used to the taste is putting a little on their paw so they lick it off. From here slowly build towards actually brushing the teeth.

🦷Use additives such as ‘Plaque Off’ on their food.

🦷Give dental treats.

Everyone say hi to Oreo🐰
She was in yesterday taking advantage of 25% off her vaccines for Rabbit Awareness Week! 🐰
She’s a 9 year old mini lop who loves her food and her time out about on the grass in her spacious run ❤️

With summer currently in full swing it is important to keep your pets safe and cool.
Ways to do this include -
☀️ Ensuring your pets have fresh, cold water available. Consider adding ice cubes to their water bowls or even making pet friendly frozen treats.
☀️ Access to shade.
☀️Groom them regularly.
☀️Provide cool mats/damp towels to lie on,but never cover your pet with a damp towel as this can trap the heat.
☀️Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening if the temperature is cooler.
☀️Don’t leave animals in hot cars/conservatories/sheds/outhouses or caravans.

‼️Signs of heatstroke - Heavy panting,excessive drooling,lethargy,drowsiness,uncoordinated movements,vomiting and collapse‼️

Fox visited us yesterday and fancied trying his paw at reception… safe to say it was VERY tiring work 💤

As you may be able to see Fox has a plastic bag on his hind paw, this is because he has a bandage on.

The golden rule of bandage care is keeping it clean and dry. Covering the dressing with something waterproof when taking your pet outside is great way to do this. 🐾🐾

🐰Rabbit Awareness Week🐰
🐰24th June to 28th June🐰

Just like with dogs and cats it is important to vaccinate your bunnies against, potentially deadly, diseases.

🐾Pet rabbits in the UK should be vaccinated against Myxomatosis and Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease -1&2 (RVHD -1&2). All of which can be spread via insects, wild rabbits and even clothes and shoes.

🐾First vaccines should be given from 5-7 weeks old and then yearly boosters are required to remain protected.

🐾It is highly recommended that even indoor bunnies are vaccinated.

Next week we are offering 25% off rabbit vaccines so to help keep your fluffy friends safe. 💓

This beautiful lady is Coco🤎 She very kindly posed for a photo before going home today.
She visited us for a spay today and was a very brave girl who loved her tummy tickles.
And as you can see she is sporting one of our bodysuits which are a great alternative to a cone, post operatively, for many surgeries.
Coco is an XL Bully so in line with the legislation we issued a proof of neutering certificate for her owner to pass on to DEFRA and Coco wears a muzzle and is on a lead in public places. 🐾❤️🐾

This lovely girl is Mabi 🐾
She came into ourselves as a stray, our vets gave her a health check and we scanned her for a microchip but unfortunately she didn’t have one. Despite efforts from ourselves and her finder to locate an owner we were unable to.
Luckily for Mabi she stole the heart of one of our team,Laura.
Yesterday Mabi was a very brave little lady for her microchip ❤️ Laura’s details will be registered to this chip and should beautiful Mabi stray again she and Laura will be reunited ❤️

On June 10th it’ll be a legal requirement to have your cats microchipped and failure to do so can result in a fine! It can also make reuniting you and your beloved pet, should they go missing, far more difficult.

To help keep animals and owners together we are offering £10 microchipping for the month of June! Give us a call on 01384 393318 to secure your appointment! 🐾🐾
