We recently helped Sally and Steve with their beloved English Springer Spaniel, Maddie. We’ve supported the family over the last 22 years with their previous three springers as Sally explains: “We feel privileged that Prestwood is on our doorstep and we can call on them in our time of need. They have always been so professional and compassionate at just the right level for us, and on this occasion, when it was so unexpected, have been incredibly kind and helpful. If I’m honest, we have promised ourselves to place their remains in their favourite spot or walk but keeping them nearby is so very comforting.” RIP lovely Maddie 💔

While we’ve had the rainbow bridge poem on the wall at Prestwood for years (since we opened) and it’s always been author unknown, we didn’t realise that in early 2023 the original author was traced. It’s a lovely story and we know the poem has helped millions of pet owners over the years.

More than a dozen people claimed ownership of the beloved poem, but the real author had no idea what a global sensation it became.

Our Christmas trees will be coming down this weekend, we will keep the baubles until the end of February, then they will be recycled. If you would like to collect your bauble and take it home before then you are more than welcome to do so. We will place the baubles in a box in reception, so no need to make an appointment if you want to come and collect your bauble during our opening hours.

The Christmas memory trees have arrived here at Prestwood. For families sadly having to use our services between now and Christmas, we have a memory tree in the reception area that if you wish, you can place a bauble with a little message on in memory of your beloved pet. For families that have had to sadly use our services in the past, we have a memory tree in our memorial garden, you are welcome to bring your own bauble and hang it on the tree in memory of your beloved pets this Christmas. For the outdoor tree you don’t need an appointment and the Crem doesn’t have to be open. If you can’t get to us please just pop a bauble of your choice in the post to us and we will hang it up on your behalf . 🎄
