🫂 Bonded our two pairs up recently..

🩷🩷 Back in early november you may remember i bonded a mother & daughter (Aster & Lily) back together, which went extremely well within a couple of days.

Why were they apart?
For those that don't know/remember, we kept daughters, Olive & Lily from a litter. As they were growing up, they were annoying mummy Aster, so we removed them from her so they didn't get hurt.
Then several months later Olive starting bulling Lily 🙄 unfortunately i had no choice but to split them up & do i choose to bond Lily back to her mum.

Last week i bonded them to my other boy/ girl pair & again they all really settled within a couple of days which has been lovely to see 💙🩷🩷🩷

So i've made a forage box out of an 9' pizza box 😉

Hay, dried grass, veg, herbs, barley rings, fiber stick & pellets.

This will hopefully keep the guests amused overnight 🤞

🥶 Brrr.. day today! ☕ Cuppa it is!
Don't forget to check those water crocs & bottles, especially the spout. De-ice in warm water only & let soak, so not to cause cracking.

If you've got fit & healthy rabbits, don't panick they should cope well in this type of weather. They prefer it to summer heat 😉 but they will need basic protection such as covers, lots straw for insulation to keep body heat & food to keep tummy's full.

Rabbits cannot regulate body temperature so by changing their environment temperature (outside/inside/outside) you can cause them serious problems, so please don't do this.

🫂 Bonding Guest's..
This week we have the lovely duo 💙 Sage & Saffron 💖

💙Sage is a beautiful New Zealand lad with an outgoing & friendly personality.

💖 Saffron (formally Ellie, rescued) a french lop (I'd say cross with mini) is not such a people bunny lol but she's definitely looks keen on some bunny company 😉

Their mummy has already done alot of the bonding work, i'm here just so confirm it, read their behaviour & check all is well.

So after our chat, i decided to give them more space & toys, as if they are holidaying, to see how they get on.
Both bunnies have settled in well, eating, drinking etc & lots of being inquisitive just as bunnies do in a new area & no negative behaviours to report between them 😊

⭐ Bunny Age ⭐

This year i'm starting the bunny information off with 'Age'.
An interesting piece of information & just look at that rapid pace in their first year, it's crazy isn't it!

As a breeder term, from your bunny growing from a cute baby to forming into a bulked out stunning adult, we call it their gangly teenage stage.

Different rabbit breeds will develop at different rates, even same breed litters can vary very slightly.

❄️ Good chilly Afternoon.. I'm here for a chat, & a brew ☕ to warm up really lol 😆

This morning i've been cleaning some large trays outside & with it been so open here in the countryside, my fingers haven't faired well 🥶

🐰 However all the bunnies are all nice & snug with their straw bedding & heating 🙄 lol, so all is well.

☃️ So who is hoping & looking forward to snow?
I absolutely love snow & the latest weather mention this morning is 4-7cm here at Windy Ridge.
I know it's not much but we rarely get it & the the kids would love it, so my fingers are crossed🤞

🏩 Okay so i often get asked for rescue reccomendations...
But i also get people contact me with concerns to local 'rescues' one in particular I'm hearing alot of currently. I can say that i've noticed things myself too & i wouldn't actually class them a rescue.

So who can i reccomend?
Well i don't know many good ethical rescues, il be honest with you, however i can reccomend:

⭐ Aimee at 'Hethersett Bunnies', her ethics & dedication shine through. I've followed her page for sometime & we've had customers who have also been to Aimee.

If you are a ethical rescue in the East Anglia area & would like to be reccomended in the future, feel free to get Intouch &/or invite me to your page/group.

🐰 Do you still breed?
Yes we aim to have a couple of litters a year, to keep our generations going, that we've worked to hard on, over many previous years.
Off spring we don't keep will become available to those highly vetted by myself to minimise our offspring needing rehoming.

However this doesn't change certain unexpected circumstances where people need help & as i've always said to all my customers please do contact me. If i can have them myself, i will or try & re-home your bunny through myself, where i can continue to support the new family, should they need.

Your also welcome to book for longer should you wish or feel more comfortable doing so.
The more personalities their are to bond, the more days may be needed.
A full true bond can take upto 3/4 months, so you will need to be committed by sticking to some restrictions once they're collected from myself.
