This poem sums up rescuing a dog perfectly.

I love my rescues so much. Giving a dog a chance of happiness is so rewarding. Yes! They do generally take some time to decompress and settle but it’s well worth it. We have one we call our little weirdo. She has a form of PTSD (who knows what happened in her past) but we love her all the more for her weirdness!

If anyone is interested in adopting I have contact with several rescues that have many dogs waiting for loving homes.

Also, this beautiful older girl is still looking for a home (through no fault of her own). There is a great package that comes with her. Please consider adopting her. She’s very low maintenance in terms of walking and would be ideal for an older couple

As dogs age, various health issues ie not being able to stand for a long time and lumps and bumps mean that you have to be careful when clipping and how you carry out the groom to ensure maximum comfort for the dog.

Here at the Calm Canine our ethos is to ensure the comfort of the dogs over the quality of the groom. We make the dog look as good as possible but we don’t worry if the groom is not perfect. Humanity over vanity.

Drago is a senior dog who cannot stand for a long time and so much of the groom is carried out with him laying down. Despite the challenges, we think he is still rocking his summer clip. Such a sweet old gentleman. ❤️
