Dogs can read a look or of information from each other’s glands. It’s like exchanging business cards for dogs! It’s also less threatening and more polite in social etiquette. 🐕

Two anxious newbies joined our DogWalk Pawmily today! Pleased to introduce Alfie and Roly, who’s been through quite a lot and are on their way back to happy lives. Both have already done a tremendous progress trusting people again and being walked by a new person is the next challenging step that we’ll be helping them with 🐕🦺🦮

Meet our new DogWalk Pawmily member, Luna! 🐾 a very excitable two-year-old pup. I decided to let her off the lead, thinking no one was around, so why not give her a moment of freedom? Ended up running around with a stick to keep her close to me - god, that must have looked like a comedy! 🎭 🐶

Two weeks with Joey were enough to realise how much dogs could benefit from socialisation and how reassuring it is for owners to know their pups are well cared for when life gets hectic. Fast forward a couple of years, and here we are with a growing team who share our ethos, more clients who trust us, and, most importantly, more pooches brightening our days! 🐕🦍🐈

How terrible of us, George 🐶 celebrated his 3rd birthday yesterday and we’re late in wishing him all the best! 🎂 The funniest (and absolutely terrible) thing is that George sniffed his candle when he celebrated his 1st birthday, hence the distance from his chicken cake this time 😂😅. We’re absolutely thrilled to have him in our squad. He’s the most gentle and playful dog, loves every person and dog, and has helped out with those who struggled with dog-to-dog contact. Happy Birthday, George! 🎁

☀️ what a week it’s been! We’re all loving the weather, but we must remember not to walk our pups for too long or to avoid the sun. They can burn their paws on hot pavements and being in a direct sun for too long can cause a stroke! 🥵 🐕 Diego in his best! 🐶

Apparently, she likes to hide gifts under her hoomans’ pillow…like a bird that her pal, the black cat, hunted or a leftover snack. Just looking after her people, she means well! 🐕

Just like us coming out of lockdown, feeling anxious talking to people perhaps, dogs are afraid of the unknown and turn on their shields. To overcome your anxiety, you wouldn’t come out on stage and give a speech to a hundred, nah, not even ten people. You’d perhaps start by chatting to a person that serves you at a till or stands behind you in a queue. That’s the way to go with them too. Not isolating them - that doesn’t solve the issue - but slowly exposing them to the stimuli from a safe distance and creating a positive association. WELL DONE OZI! ❤️ It’s not a bad thing for a dog to get excited, but I like wearing shorts sometimes and let me tell you, a Labrador jumping on your bare legs isn’t the best experience.
