The 4 Paws Covid 19 Procedures UPDATED 30th July 2020

‼️‼️‼️IMPORTANT INFORMATION ‼️‼️‼️
Please read until the end......

PLEASE WEAR A MASK AND GLOVES AS YOU WILL BE ENTERING MY HOME.

# PLEASE PLEASE be on time for your appointment as I can only have one dog or dogs from one household in the parlour at a time at present.
# If you are late to pick up then the next customer will have to wait outside until you arrive.
# LATE ARRIVALS will mean that I may not be able to complete your groom but will still be charged the full amount.
# IF YOU ARE EARLY for your appointment you will need to wait for the previous dog to leave first. PLEASE WAIT IN THE LAY BY. LET ME KNOW YOU ARE THERE AND I WILL TEXT YOU WHEN I AM READY.
# PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR DOG HAS BEEN TO THE TOILET ON THE GREEN BEFORE ENTERING
# I will be wearing a mask, gloves and an apron.
# I will step back and you are welcome to come into my hall and go straight into the grooming room shutting the gate behind you.
# You will then need to take the dogs collar, harness and lead off.
# You then need to leave the dog in the grooming room, shutting the gate behind you and taking the collar etc with you.
# Your dog will be bathed straight away. The normal practice is to do a pre clip before the bath to get rid of extra coat, so it is easier to dry, but this will not be possible now so as the coat is longer the groom may take longer.
# I will call you or text you 30 mins before the groom is finished. PLEASE BE ON TIME.
# If you are EARLY then please park in the lay-by, or wait out of sight on the green as if your dog sees you they can become excited and it makes it harder to finish the groom. As well as my dogs will continue to bark and cause your dog to get more excited. PLEASE TEXY ME TO LET ME KNOW YOU ARE THERE.
# I will text/call you again when I have finished and it is ok to come on the drive.
# Payment needs to be done by bank transfer PRIOR to the groom being started. If you don’t do online banking then cash is accepted in an envelope.
# I will still send out text reminders the day before and on that text will the amount you need to pay.
# All of my equipment and grooming room will be disinfected between each dog.
# I will change or disinfect my clothes, mask, gloves and apron between each dog.
# If you or a family member have been ill 14 days prior to the appointment then please rearrange the groom.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS

I hope this will put your mind at ease that every precaution is being done to keep us all safe.

Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times.
Take care and continue to stay safe.

COVID 19 PROCEDURE
Finally it is time to re-open on 1st June and I cannot wait to pick up my scissors and get back to work!

‼️‼️‼️IMPORTANT INFORMATION ‼️‼️‼️
Please read until the end......

I will be working through my diary to try and get everyone an appointment in sequence of when they were booked originally. I will get to you, but if you haven’t heard from me by the middle of June then please feel free to give me a ring.

# PLEASE WAIT IN THE LAY BY AND I WILL TEXT YOU WHEN YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG.
# When you arrive please ring the doorbell (the doorbell will be disinfected between customers) and then step back 2 metres.
# I will be wearing gloves, a mask and an apron.
# I will then ask you to wait while I go to my side gate. I have a double gate system in place.
# Once I have opened the gate at a safe distance we can discuss what you would like me to do with your dog.
# I will then ask you to bring your dog into the side alley way and close the gate behind you.
# I will ask you to take off the dogs collar and lead and let the dog free into the little area.
# I will then put my lead on your dog.
# It is then safe for you to leave through the gate. (All handles etc will be disinfected between customers)
# If you are EARLY then please park in the layby, or wait out of sight on the green, as if your dog sees you they can become excited and it makes it harder to finish the groom. As well as my dogs will continue to bark and cause your dog to get more excited.
# I will text/call you again when I have finished and it is ok to come on the drive.
# You then need to go back and open the side gate so I can give you your dog back.
# If you or a family member have been ill 7 days prior to the appointment then please rearrange the groom.

PLEASE FOLLOW THE ABOVE INSTRUCTIONS

I hope this will put your mind at ease that every precaution is being done to keep us all safe.

Finally I am ONLY making appointments for those that had to cancel due to the restrictions.
Once the backlog has been cleared I can then start to take bookings from customers already registered with me.
Unfortunately I am unable to take on new clients at this time.
Thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times and I will get your dogs in as soon as I can.
Take care and continue to stay safe.

***Temporary Closure is sadly still in place***

After yesterday’s Covid-19 briefing I just want to keep all our lovely clients in the loop...

Although The Canine and Feline Sector Group (CFSG) along with Defra have isssued a statement saying that groomers can now work but under very stringent guidelines

including:
# Keeping 2m distance between people
# Wearing full PPE - gloves , masks, apron & visor which must be changed between each dog
# Only dogs from the same household to be in the salon at one time
# The dog must be sprayed with pet safe disinfectant once handed over to the groomer before being bathed
# After the grooming session the whole salon needs to be thoroughly disinfected before the next dog can come in
# After the salon has been deep cleaned the groomer then needs to disinfect themselves thoroughly before taking another client in
# Essential travel does not include driving your dogs to their appointment so you will need to walk and someone else will need to collect your dog

Other very important points are:

# The BVA (British Veterinary Association) state for vet practises their appts do not include skin, nail and coat maintenance as non-essential (unless animal is in distress or pain).

# It is possible for the Virus to remain on the dogs fur for a period of time so a person who is asymptomatic can pass the virus onto the fur.

# There is not enough PPE for front line workers battling the virus let alone any other non-essential work.

# If dog or groomer got injured this would put unnecessary strain on both NHS and vets.

So as much as groomers we would all love to be back working, we need to be responsible and do our part to try and stop the spread of this terrible virus.

Once the Government gives us the green light we shall then look at re-opening.

In the meantime keep brushing your dogs & give them a hug from all of us as we miss seeing you all.

Stay safe & well.

Love Alison🐾

A guide to help you if needed 🐶🐶

Below is a guide to the most important areas to start with, and the most important areas are those areas that dogs tolerate the least so be vigilant. Once they get used to it they will stand with no issues but if they're not used to their parents brushing them they will play up and push the boundaries just like a toddler.

If there are areas that are starting to knot and you're having some issues brushing it out and you dont have any detangler spray then sprinkle some cornstarch on it, this will help it to brush out.

I know some off our dogs will need grooming soon. A word of caution...please don’t panic and clip or scissor your dogs coat. Just brush and then comb through with a narrow toothed comb from skin right to the end of the hair. Slicker brushes are ok but only really surface brush so matts will form near the skin on some breeds like any poodle mixed dog. Combing really well will stop this. 🐶🐶stay safe everyone🐶🐶

I would love to see some photo’s of your babies, dog, rabbit, Guinea pig etc.

As much as I didn’t want too I am having to close. This is my last day until further notice.
These are horrible times and I want to wish everyone to stay safe and well.
We will get through this and as soon as I can open again I will be in touch.
Take care xx🐶🐶xx

23/03/2020

I am open as usual until I am told otherwise by the government.
Extra precautions are being taken by dogs being dropped off at the door and wherever possible payment is to made via online banking instead of cash.
If you are unwell then please reschedule the appointment.
Stay safe everyone. 🐶🐶
