Crufts 2024 is over.
Can’t wait for the next one😊.

As always it was a great time and amazing show. Lots of beautiful dogs, interesting breeds, lovely people, valuable information, and grooming as well as food stands.

I enjoyed watching the Coton de Tulear competition and talking to the breeders. They were all are so kind and happy to answer and share their experience - thank you for all your advice.

Also a big thank you to Artero for your help and patience while I chose my new high quality grooming scissors.

And finally many thanks to Debbie from DG_walkies for being with me and sharing an amazing day at Crufts ❤️.

I met this little, sweet girl for the very first time.
Her mum told me that she might be nervous and anxious.

Being patient and delicate and not rushing (I booked her for the last session of the day) ended with some great results.

I am so glad Yungyung’s parents trusted me and let me look after their precious girl.

😧 FLEAS, FLEAS, FLEAS 😧 The most common dog flea can be Ctenocephalides canis but also sometimes cat fleas (Ctenocephalides felis). Fleas can transmit bacterial diseases - Rickettsia and Bartonella, as well as parasitic diseases (dog tapeworm Dipylidium caninum).

Eggs are laid on the skin, from where they get onto the dog's bed and into floor gaps. After a few days, the eggs hatch
larvae that feed on dead, exfoliated epidermis. The larvae go through three development stages, during which time they avoid exposure to light - they live in lairs, under the carpet, and in sparse floors. After reaching the appropriate size, the larvae surround themselves in a cocoon and transform into adults. Fleas can suck up much more blood than they need, leaving the excess undigested excreted in the form of brown f***s resembling ground pepper. Tapeworm infection occurs after a dog eats a flea larva containing dog tapeworm eggs.

Fleas cause minimal skin damage when sucking blood but the scratching and biting by the dog may result in dermatitis.
In cases of a strong flea infestation, hair loss, anemia, eczema, weight loss and even death can occur in puppies.

Fleas can go without food for many months. Preferably, they settle on the neck, rake and around the base of the tail. To eliminate the parasites, removing the dog's fleas is not enough. Effective methods include frequent washing of the dog's bedding and wet cleaning of the floor (especially if it has gaps) with water and detergent. Suitable means for destroying fleas are various insecticides that paralyze the nervous system of insects. Special collars and pharmacological agents against fleas are also effective when used regularly.
