We are very sad to announce that our Dad Steve Merryfield passed away last Monday (4th November) following a short illness.
Stratford born and bred, Dad worked for the civil service in Stratford and Birmingham for many years. He then achieved his dream of running his own business, Catsablanca Cattery from 2008 until now.
We are absolutely devastated to lose him far too soon at only 65 years old.
We thank all of Dad’s lovely customers for their love and support through this difficult time. Dad WAS Catsablanca cattery, there is no way the business could continue without him and it has now closed.
There will be a memorial service at St Andrew’s Church, Shottery at 11.30am on Wednesday 27th November followed by refreshments nearby. We would love it if you could come, share memories, have a drink, and celebrate his life with us.
Family flowers only please, but donations for The Brain Tumour Charity, Avon Cat Rescue, and Dogs Trust may be left at the service or sent c/o A E Bennett & Sons, 34 Sheep Street, Stratford upon Avon, CV37 6EE

With some holidays now allowed, I’m looking forward to seeing my lovely customers again! I’ve been working hard during lockdown writing and implementing a COVID-19 risk assessment and control measures to ensure that both you and I and the cats are all kept safe. Things are going to be a little different when it comes to drop offs and pick ups - all will be explained over the phone and by email before your arrival. It’ll be so nice to get back to a little normality again!

Hi everyone, we at Catsablanca need help again to re-home a delightful one year old 3 legged adorable Ginger & White Greek feline!
One of my long-standing customers regularly travels to Skiathos to volunteer at a cat rescue centre. One of their prime aims is to neuter as many feral felines as possible.
The lady fell in love with this little chap that had little chance of being re-homed due to his disability (Oscar doesn’t think he has a disability).She duly arranged for Oscar to be flown here & he is
here legally and with all his paperwork in order.
Unfortunately for the lady’s other cats, Oscar just wants to play & play & play.... & it is just too much for them! With a heavy heart, a new home has to be found for Oscar whereas either he has to be the only cat
OR be with another of a similar age that wants to play as much.
Oscar needs a new home ASAP BUT he will staying in his current home until one is found.
I have met him-delightful, bi-lingual, non “plate smashing” & absolutely neutral on the Brexit issue!
