🐾Meet Buddie 🐾

This handsome little man was in recently for a dental procedure! When under anaesthetic we took some dental x-rays to check the health of the teeth. The vet extracted a few teeth, scaled and polished the rest!

Buddie is recovering well from his procedure thanks to his wonderful owners looking after him 💞💞

🐾Guess the paw print 🐾

Well done to all the great guesses! This paw print was in fact from our big friend August, the great dane💛💛.

He was in recently to get his teeth cleaned and checked over. We had to use 2 tables to fit him comfortably. Big muscles were needed by the team this day!

Here is our beautiful Lea 😻

Lea was in for her vaccines with vet Aoife and had a full vaccine card! She has been coming to us for 13 years!

Lea received her goody bag for staying up to date with her vaccinations. She was a very good girl 🥰🥰

Ahead of Bonfire night tomorrow, here are some of our top tips to keep your pets safe:

• Stay at home with your pet and create a safe space for them
• Keep cats indoors and walk your dog before it gets dark Drown out the sounds of fireworks by turning the TV up or having the radio on
• Keep them entertained with games and food
• If your pet seeks comfort, give it but don't smother them

Great idea! Is anyone going?

🎆🐾 Nae Fireworks Night is back! 🐾🎆

Join us on Tuesday 5th November where we will be attending Whitelee Windfarm for their annual Nae fireworks night! It's a peaceful evening, perfect for dog owners looking to escape the fireworks. Enjoy a quiet walk in the company of other dog lovers, Whitelee's team does their best to keep the area firework-free (although they can’t guarantee it!). You will find our stall there and you can catch up with our team with all things SSPCA, our team are there for any advice or information you may need! 🙌

🍰☕ Visitor Centre will be open from 6-9pm for hot drinks and cake. Bring your reusable cup for a discount and help reduce waste!

Welcome to the team Alex! 💞

👩🏼‍⚕️🩺🐴Meet the Team 🐴🩺👩🏼‍⚕️

Meet our new vet Alexandra!

Alexandra studied at Glasgow University obtaining a BSC in veterinary bioscience, after working for a few years in a number of different fields, she accepted a place at The Royal Veterinary College in London. On graduating she joined Fyrwny Equine Clinic, where she undertook an internship in their busy equine hospital splitting her time between ambulatory work and hospital care. After completing her internship, she stayed on as part of their ambulatory team. Alex decided to make the move back to Scotland to be closer to friends and family, taking up a full-time position with us here at Avondale.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys walking, riding and finding new places for the best cup of coffee.
