Penbode Pet Vets has just attained our Zero Pain Philosophy accreditation!

This accreditation recognises our Teamโ€™s passionate care and diligence to provide and deliver exceptional pain management and care to our patients; from those coming in to us for surgical procedures, those hospitalised when they are unwell, and for those who have long term chronic pain conditions that needs ongoing management.

The assessment for accreditation centres around providing evidence of optimal pain relieving methods and techniques; the aim of Zero Pain Philosophy is to work towards ensuring no veterinary patient suffers unnecessary pain.

Our whole team continue to educate themselves in best analgesic practice and are committed to providing the very best care to each and every patient, as an individual. We โ€˜think outside the boxโ€™ and can offer additional techniques and modalities to our patients, including local nerve blocks, analgesic infusions, acupuncture, physiotherapy. Further, we routinely use acute and chronic pain scoring techniques, to record and ensure ongoing comfort, intervening with additional measures where appropriate.

Alongside our passionate, experienced vet and nursing team who all have individual additional areas of interest, such as exotics, medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, complementary therapies, behaviour medicine, anaesthesia and critical care, dedicated Pain Clinics are run by Dave Tittle. His particular interests lie in anaesthesia, acute and chronic pain management. He is passionate about pain relief in animals โ€“ both in the time around a trauma or surgical procedure, and also in those animals suffering from chronic pain states and has taken a lead in ensuring we provide optimal pain management to our cases.

For us, pain is a priority and pain education for our team is a key focus for us. We look for pain in our patients, and we provide effective solutions to ensure comfort.

Caring for pets of all shapes and sizes

Here at Penbode Pet Vets we have a dedicated and passionate team of vets, nurses and receptionists who are looking forward to meeting you and your animals. Pets such as Maddy here - our April Pet of the Month who had a reaction to the suture material following abdominal surgery which meant she required second surgery. Maddy really is a fighter and over the next week we saw her every day and she continued to do well. Her ownerโ€™s incredible care - including keeping her in, giving her multiple drugs (something Maddy didnโ€™t like!) and gently increasing her exercise - means she has made a full recovery and can now enjoy the garden in the Spring sunshine! (whatever that is!).
