Cotswold Animal Services provides home from home care for your animals, we are a family home first and foremost with two dog savvy children (9 & 13) who have grown up an integral part of all that we do here - From offering doggy daycare here in our home, to boarding and dog walking. We believe in providing a loving and safe home for your dogs when they are with us with an emphasis on their individ

ual needs and exceptional quality care. I am of course fully licensed and insured to offer your pets these services - Canine first aid trained and DBS checked for your peace of mind. My love for animals spans over many years with our family business raising free range pigs, goats, chickens and ducks. I founded C.A.S in 2018, we own 3 German Shorthaired Pointers our own and am a 5* licensed home breeder and KC assured breed for GSP's having raised two BEAUTIFUL litters. We own two cats who keep an eye on all proceedings, and a Bearded Dragon called Spike!! If you choose to make a booking with Cotswold Animal Services I will invite you for a complimentary meet and greet to our home where I can asses suitability of your dog, show you our space and answer any questions you may have about the care I provide. Part of my package is to provide you with regular updates and photos so you can be rest assured that your animal is happy in your absence and having fun with their new friends. I offer a variety of care for your animals...

* Home environment daycare - Licensed and insured to offer you care for your dogs in my home for the day so they do not have to spend to long home alone. I do so on a very small scale to allow your dog some gentle socialisation but just as importantly rest and a healthy environment to have time out and relaxation and come home happy and relaxed. I offer a free collection and drop home from Painswick, Edge/Sheepscombe/Pitchcombe. The doggies have exclusive access to the underfloor heating and a hot dog shower for cleaning down on mucky days.

* Home boarding - Licensed and insured to offer a home from home whilst you are away, we all want to know whilst away that our dogs are relaxed and happy when we aren't there to provide them with the love and attention they are used to. I offer home boarding on a very small scale here in my home, to allow for exceptional individual care. We have wonderful sniffy walks on our doorstep, a secure field and a warm cozy house, multiple bed options and a sofa to come home to and snuggle up on with us whilst they board. I will send you regular photos and updates so you don't need to worry about how your dog is settling. The doggies have exclusive acces to the underfloor heating and a hot dog shower for cleaning down on mucky days.

* Small group or individual dog walks. I collect from Painswick/Edge/Sheepscombe/Pitchcombe/Haresfeild areas, I also have access to a private secure field daily.

* Vet or grooming taxi trips - Should your do need taking along to an appointment I would be more than happy to do this for you, I am fully insured to travel your pets and hold a valid DBS check for your peace of mind. I offer a free collection and drop home from Painswick/Edge/Sheepscombe/Pitchcombe, further afield may incur a additional travel fee.

* Puppy pop in's (lunch time let outs/feeding and play) - Ideal for puppy owners who need to juggle a work/home balance and are conscious of leaving your young dog home alone for extended periods. I offer a toilet visit with feeding/ play and enrichment for your puppy to break the day up and keep your training on the right track.

* Canine wedding chaperone - Your dog being a valued member of the family, why wouldn't you want them there on your big day to be part of your photographs to treasure forever. Cotswold Animal Services is licensed and insured to offer home boarding for your dog the night before your wedding in my home, I will then bring your dog along to your wedding venue in time to be art of your photographs or for the ceremony. Taking your dog home again whilst you dance the night away without the worry of who is looking after your dog, collection the next day or drop back to your venue can be arranged.

* Feline - I offer cat sitting from your home whilst you are away. Many cats find a cattery an unnatural and stressful environment. We all know how much our cats thrive on their routine and familiar environments so I will visit your cats in your home and provide them their care and home comforts as you would do on a daily basis.

* Equine - I offer care in your home for your horses/ponies whilst you are away, your horses routine can remain the exact same so your horses aren't unsettled and you do not need to return from your break to a mountain of pooh picking!

* Chicken sitting from your home whilst you are away, let me pop in once or twice a day to let your hens out...clean up after them and feed and freshen up their home and check they are safe and secure from the pesky fox! Just arrived home from two jam packed days of learning at Predation Substitute Training - Simone Mueller seminar hosted by dog-and-bone.co.uk and Dogology Dogs - Hertfordshire .

Not only have I learned a huge amount, I am now so excited to get stuck in with more training with my own guys and get out hunting together with them.

I knew I loved Simone’s methods, now I love them even more and can’t wait to share all the exciting new experiences with my dogs!!

What a fantastic day of learning with coach studying for IPET Network Canine First Aid (level 2) course today.

Not only did I learn things that we have never learned on a first aid course before, I gained my Ofqual Level 2 in canine first aid (well hopefully, pending marking!!)

We also had some exceptionally cute demo dogs to practice our bandaging on which totally made my day.

Thanks for an educational and brilliant day guys - highly recommend this course! ⛑️🐾⛑️

**for anyone unsure the nose bandage on the stuffed dog was a demo of a makeshift muzzle in an emergency situation**

🏡 What to know/look for when choosing your home boarder or dog care.

Everybody across the country is required by law to hold a license if they have clients dogs in their home & charge a fee.
The only exception to this is if they earn under £1,000 per year total from any income relating to pet care.

Every licensed premises is inspected and all paperwork/risk assessments/experience/space/CPD/environment are looked & and the space is given a maximum number they are allowed to care for in that setting.

All business are given a star rating based on their inspection & the above points. All of the above information should be made available to you, if it’s not you should feel comfortable to request it as it’s a license condition to display it.

All dogs in a professionals care should wear the tags/information of the person caring for them.

Anyone with a 5* license or meeting the higher standards has to host a trial night for bookings over 48 hours.

They must have appropriate insurance, dog Walker insurance is different again as is the insurance needed to chaperone a dog to someone’s wedding.

Their individual insurance policy dictates how many dogs they are insured to walk in a public space, many also state it’s at the discretion of the local authority in your area.
Going over these numbers invalidates insurance.

They must be canine first aid trained , this needs redoing in person every 1-3 years depending on the course undertaken.

Dbs checks are not mandatory but some professionals do one anyway.

Vehicles should meet licence standards & requirements in order to safely transport dogs - Do ask to see how/what your dogs will be traveling in.

There is currently no licensing for dog walkers, but many of the above points are good practice & the quality companies will comply with them & make this information available to you. Don’t be afraid to ask, it should all be part of your meet & greet/introduction process.

SDC offer a voluntary dog walkers code of conduct list, good to see who chooses to sign up to this scheme. It’s publicly available on their website.

This petition has come off the back of the change.org petition with over 1mil signatures that was delivered at downing street this week. The man who created this has lost his mum due to teens putting fireworks through the letterbox. Regulation is desperately needed and with a new government we can hopefully see some positive change.

If your doggy likes tuggy …. I can HIGHLY recommend Agicore Dog Toys !!! LOOK what came today 🫶🏻 and look at the feedback from Bow’s tail. I bought these to use as an alternative reward during training, also just to play tug as I like to let meet my dogs predatory needs but with me….not self employed!! Bow says “If you buy anything for your dog, I would recommend Octosheep!!” Pawfect 🐑 (not an AD, just a recommendation as these are the best tugs we have ever found!!) dont get me started on the colours 🌈
