British Horse Society (BHS) and as a Pony Club Link Centre. Based on our family
run farm in Nailswoth, 4 Miles south of Stroud along the A46; Barton End Stables was established by Abby Blackwell in the year 2000 to provide a full range of services and activities for riders of all ages and abilities.

What’s new? 🏠🐇

While we improve and modernise the yard, our latest mission has been to upgrade our furry friends home! 🐰

One of our most popular locations on the yard is our rabbit and Guineapig enclosure, where many of our smaller riders enjoy saying hello to our other four legged animals!

Once the roof is on, we will be moving our rabbits into their new paradise! 🍃🪵🏡

Spot the difference!🐴

You may not believe it, but this is the same young horse!

Pictured on the left, is Megan as a foal. The video is of Megan this week after finishing her ridden training, before being turned away to continue her growth! 🦄

It’s been an incredible journey for both Megan and rider, Angelina! Angelina started volunteering at Barton End a few years ago, and is now completing her apprenticeship with us. Angelina’s riding has developed incredibly over the years, now training our young horses, under the watchful eye of Helen and Abby.

It’s so important to get the training right in the early years of a horse’s ridden life. Megan has had a wonderful, educational start and is now ready to mature further out in the field over the winter months.

Like many of our home-bred horses, she will be one to watch in future years! 😍

How many home-breds do you recognise? 👀

We have some super talented horses and ponies at Barton End, but did you know some of them are home-bred?🐴

Just to name a few;

• Honey bred three super talented all-rounders; Tulchan (2014), Domino (2015) and May (2017.) Domino is now an active horse in the riding school, with May and Tulchan being ridden in our level 3 & 4 lessons! 🦄

• Tulchan bred Talulah in 2021, a beautiful mare that has just started her ridden journey. 🐎

• May also bred a beautiful foal in 2021, named Megan, who along with Talulah, has started her ridden journey this summer with our hard-working apprentice, Angelina! ☀️

• Back in 2020, Cari gave birth to the beautiful ‘Tilly.’ Now aged 4; Tilly is enjoying her education into riding life getting more mature by the day! 🦄
