Lovely Charlie started us off this morning and has had his feathers taken really short and his pants 😍

Toffstar had her usual before she sets back off on her holidays, luckily she had chance to have a good gal catch up with best friend Lilly 🥰

Phoebe and Suzie are two girls who know how to enjoy a spa, such lovely girls a real pleasure to have an afternoon with 😇🥰

Pickles finished me off this evening my little chocolate drop 😍 Pickles tolerates me fiddling with his toes to fish out those pesky grass seeds 😘

A huge well done to Trudy she is only a puppy and coped with a 3 hour groom like an absolute pro! What a gorgeous girl she is 😍

Harley has been doing a fabulous job helping his mum recover and is simply the best nurse ever 😘

Tilly has kept with the shorter ear style and is wearing it soooo well 😘😘

Toby has had a fabulous 6 weeks with the kids on school holidays, I think he will be sad when they go back to school 🤣😘

Pops loved her pamper as always and has opted for a short beard style to avoid her dinner being in it 🤣

Pretty pawfect Wednesday 🥰

Giant Schnoodles Calipso and Freya had a sister spa, boy did they need a couple of baths 🤣 girls please stay clean for a little while 🤣

Mischa bombed through the door and went for her shortest style so far! She is the sweetest cutest little pup🥰

Monty had stayed a little longer in the body but still a short face 😍

D'Arcy was a brilliant colour when she arrived, very impressive! Restored to white now 🥰🤣

Charlie finished us off last night and I've never seen so many grass seeds 🤣all stripped off and de seeded 😘

Lilly hasn't been letting mummy brush her, naughty Lil 🤣 so this time she had a full strip off 🥰

Arrow was a spaniel covered in the grass seeds, all gone now Arrow 😘

The afternoon was packed with yorkies yayyyy 🥰 Archie, Bailey and Dorry all had their usual styles and are serving pure yorkie realness 😘

So before I update you all on our weekend beauts, I have to introduce you to Bear 😍🥰

Two very special puppies came to me this week, Roo and beautiful Bear, both these puppies have arrived to heal some very broken hearts and help bring smiles and fuzzy hearts back in the building 🥰

Bear I have no words, he had the full lilly facial 🤣 and was an absolute legend for his first groom, already a pro!

You have the best life ahead of you sweet angel cannot wait to share it with you 😘

Soooo before I update you all on the last couple of days, I wanted to give you a Friday puppy treat in the form of Roo! 🥰🥰🥰

How lucky am I having the honour of giving this beautiful baby his first spa 😘😘

Roo is a Bermadoodle, he will be a busy boy working hard with the horses so he will eventually have his coat off 🥰

The most important thing Roo is doing is healing some very broken hearts 😘 Roo you are one very special boy 😘😘🙃

🥵HEATSTROKE SYMPTOMS🥵

Dogs suffering from heatstroke urgently need to have their body temperature lowered gradually for the best chance of survival.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
🔹Move the dog to a shaded and cool area. (Tiled floors not in direct sunlight are great)
🔹Immediately pour cool water over the dog. Tap water (15-16°C) has been found to be the most effective at cooling dogs with heat-related illnesses. (In a true emergency, any water is better than nothing.)
🔹Create a breeze, use a fan or aircon
Wet towels placed over the dog can worsen the condition, trapping heat. In mild cases towels can be placed under the dog, but NEVER OVER!
🔹Allow the dog to drink small amounts of cool water
🔹Continue to pour cool water over the dog until their breathing starts to settle, but not too much that they start shivering
🔹Dogs that have lost consciousness will stop panting, despite still having a very high temperature, these dogs require urgent aggressive cooling as a priority.
🔹Throughout the treatment of heatstroke try to avoid pouring water on your dog’s head, as there is a risk of them inhaling the water which could lead to drowning, especially for flat-faced and unconscious dogs. The back of the neck, onto the tummy or the dogs back are recommended.
🔹Once the dog is cool, take them to the nearest vet as a matter of urgency.

Heatstroke can affect any breed of dog. However some types of dogs are more prone to heatstroke, like very old or young dogs, dogs with thick, heavy coats or dogs with very short flat faces like pugs and bulldog types. Dogs with certain diseases or on some types of medication are also more at risk.

🔹WHAT IS LUNGWORM?🔹
Lungworm is a type of parasitic worm which affects dogs and foxes. Once dogs are infected, adult lungworms live in their heart and the major blood vessels supplying the lungs, where they often cause a host of potentially serious problems.

🔹HOW DO DOGS GET LUNGWORM?🔹
Unlike many diseases, lungworm is not actually passed directly from dog to dog. The worm needs slug and snail hosts in order to grow and develop, and it’s from eating these that infection may occur. Dogs then pass larvae in their waste, which in turn infect slugs and snails. So the more infected slugs and snails eaten, the more likely disease is then rapidly spread within dog communities.

🔹HOW COULD MY DOG GET INFECTED? 🔹
Wet spring months usually mean you’ll see a fair few slugs and snails around and they’ve all got the potential to carry the dangerous lungworm parasite. So when your dog rummages through undergrowth, drinks from puddles, eats grass, or generally sniffs around outside; they can end up eating these slugs or snails either accidentally or on purpose. Although slugs and snails can give off foul-tasting substances that prevent them from being ingested, some dogs just appear to ignore these warnings. Also any contact with the slime trail in outdoor food and water bowls, even over toys left out in the garden, can be enough to cause infection too.

🔹WHAT DO I DO IF I THINK MY DOG MAY BE INFECTED?🔹
If you’re concerned your dog has picked up lungworm, is displaying signs of the disease, or is at risk from lungworm infection, then call your vet immediately. Lungworm treatment is widely available from your vet and extremely easy to administer. The key to successful treatment is taking action early.
