I am very much a hands on/visual learner, this is a beautiful picture showing the muscles and layers within the thoracic sling

The Equine Thoracic sling forms the connection between the forelimbs and the body.

Nestled between the forelimb and the rib cage, the brachial plexus lies protected. The integrity and function of the thoracic sling is essential to the function of the entire body. Restrictions or dysfunction of this area can restrict the nerves of the brachial plexus, restrict range of motion of the forelimbs as well as the hindlimbs, and cause imbalance throughout the body.

Doggie do’s and doggie don’ts - sadly this popular game for our beloved pets is a big hit with them but should be a no no from us! And here is why in a short form…. 🐾🐕🎾❌

When optimal alignment of the skeletal structure is achieved, a body can maintain perfect equilibrium, whether in motion or statically, with the least amount of energy expenditure.

Some injuries can be a bit like an iceburg - what we can see on the outside is just the tip of the iceburg. Don’t underestimate the depth and implications on delicate structures of even the most superficial looking injuries. Bruising is harder to see on our equine friends.

25/08/2024

As a new month is closely upon us, I will be sending a post out regarding pricing updates along with package deals ☺️
Due to redundancy my diary will be opening as of the 1st September for both equine and canine home/yard visits in and around Warwickshire 🐾🐴

Join us next week for "CLINICAL BENEFITS of CLASS IV Laser Therapy in Modern Veterinary Practice", an exciting free webinar with Russell Chandler and Natalie McAuley. 💻

Historically, medical devices are very poorly regulated: Safety over Clinical Efficacy. Medical Therapy Lasers have been available since the 1980, but only recently has technology and science combined to allow new Class IV Therapy Lasers to benefit modern veterinary practices clinically and economically.

This webinar allows an orthopaedic veterinary surgeon and a clinical veterinary nurse to talk about their experiences and how a specific Class IV Laser product have effected their patient health, treatment protocols, team working dynamics and profitability.

This lecture is for educating a broad spectrum of clinical and management staff: non-believers, interested non-users, laser users, and dedicated adopters of laser therapy technology.

Is posture a fundamental factor in the clinical relevance of kissing spine?

This image is powerful! We can clearly see the effects of spinal posture on the proximity of the spinal processes!

But what we might not be aware of is just how much horses live in a “hollow back” posture!

This spinal posture is created by biomechanics, the functional link between the entire topline from the position of the head and neck to the position of the pelvic region.

But also this posture is perpetuated by horses living in a constant sympathetic state and many other factors of domestication, feeding, confinement, hoof balance and human interference on major proprioception centres!

Join Dr Neidhart and myself as we delve into understanding kissing spines
