A little sneak peak at one of the projects I’m starting to work on this year!
If anyone would like to give feedback on the logo please do as this isn’t necessary the final design I’ll use, I’ve included 3 similar designs which are my favourite so far.

Ivy has a little message she wanted to show everyone (of course she wrote it all by herself)!
We both look forward to lots of exciting things happening in 2025!

A few of Ivys’ tricks, let me know which is your favourite. For an extra challenge see if you can teach your dog one (or all!) of these tricks and send me the video!

We’ve been very busy over the last month and also have a couple of very exciting things to share.

Firstly, Ivy had her first acting job at Clare Christmas Fair which included being my assistant elf whilst running Santas’ grotto. We then led the childrens’ parade in the evening before heading up on stage for the light switch on. She was perfectly behaved all day and completely unfazed when we got on the stage in front of about 1,000 people too! Whilst on stage we improvised a bit of a freestyle to music routine too with Ivy showing off some of her tricks.
Speaking of tricks, I also finally got round to recording the tricks needed to earn her trick titles, we had to record 70 different tricks in total! She has managed to achieve 8 titles altogether meaning she is an ‘expert masters’ trick dog and I can start working on her championship application. I’ll put together a video showing some of my favourite tricks from this soon.

Ivy has also been cheering Joy on at some agility shows and is clearly doing a good job as Joy had had some nice runs lately including a couple of wins.

Well after a very long and challenging 4 years, yesterday I attended my graduation ceremony so can officially say I have a BSc (Hons) degree in veterinary nursing and animal behaviour! As you can see Ivy was also very pleased and thought the certificate was hers!

Thank you so much to all my friends and clients who have supported me through this journey, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without many of you. Some of you will know the endless hurdles that kept being thrown at me, so whilst I may not have always had the best luck I didn’t let that stop me! I’m very pleased with the results I achieved and can’t wait to start the next stage of my journey, helping people and their animals along the way.

I had a busy couple of days looking after this lot recently whilst Portia Jane Brown was away for a well deserved break. They all looked a bit confused to see my car pulling up instead but once they realised I had brought food with me they soon came running over!

Well what an exciting day we had yesterday! I was competing with Joy again and since Ivy is now old enough, she came along to watch as well for the first time. Joy was very excited to have Ivy there and was showing off leading to a slight lack of control in places! Despite her more challenging mood we still managed to come 3rd and 4th just outside the placings in two of her runs. Ivy also enjoyed her day and was very well behaved even with lots of exciting things going on around her!

Well I went competing with Joy again at the weekend and was so pleased with how much she’s improving. She was clear in all of her runs and even managed to get a first place meaning we are one step closer to winning into grade 4!

Well Ivy had her first walk in public today and was amazing! She walked perfectly, was taking in her surroundings and not bothered by any of the strange noises or the plastic bag that blew towards her! She was also very confident when meeting people and was good at waiting for permission from me first to say hello. Looks like all the hard work to prepare her before she was vaccinated has paid off!

In addition to all the photos here is a video showing some of the training and tricks Ivy can do so far, she’s so clever and loves to learn! Being only 12 weeks old now I can’t wait to see how we progress as she gets older.

Let the adventures begin!

So Ivy had her 2nd vaccination on Monday meaning she will very soon be able to start getting out properly instead of being carried everywhere! It also means I can now carry on socialising her with more people and dogs, therefore anyone who would like to meet her please send me a message and we’ll sort something out. She loves people already so would be very happy to have lots of cuddles along with a run around with other dogs!

Here are some pictures showing some of what we’ve been up to so far, which also shows how much she’s grown in the 4 weeks I’ve had her (the photos are in order with the last ones being most recent)!

The big announcement…
Thank you Portia for your help today!

Very pleased to say that I have just had confirmation that I passed my OSCEs following my trip to Hampshire to take the exam a few weeks ago! This means I have now completely finished my course and can qualify.

I also have some extremely exciting news hopefully coming soon, I’m not giving many hints yet but I’ve been waiting for a very long time and after much deliberation have decided to go ahead with it.
Any guesses? (No cheating from the 2 people who already know!)

Well me and Joy went to our second show of the season this weekend and I was so pleased with how much she improved over the two days. Massive improvement with her confidence and speed in the weaves and by Sunday I even managed to convince her not to use the A-frame as a launch pad!

Despite starting off slightly distracted in her first run Saturday (due to a food truck by the ring which she thought smelled tasty!) she still did some nice work and was only eliminated due to me stepping too far forwards and pushing her the wrong side of a jump.
The next couple of rounds were very nice (videos coming soon) with a clear in the jumping and just unfortunately jumping off the A-frame a stride early picking up 5 faults in the agility. I was even able to put her under a bit of pressure in the weaves to speed her up, which she coped really well with.

Sunday was a brilliant day with three clear rounds and two 2nd places, one of which was a lovely clear in a fairly challenging 3-5 agility course. Her clear in the 3-5 jumping put her in 3rd which was unfortunately just outside the placings but still a lovely run in what was another technical course with a few traps.

I’m definitely feeling more connected with Joy this season and I’m really starting to figure out how to keep her attention when she’s in a more challenging mood too!

Did you know that in addition to looking after horses, dogs, cats and other pets I also offer assistance for smallholdings? This includes holiday cover/ house sitting, lambing and helping with moving, worming, foot trimming etc.

I also had great fun trying out the camera on my new phone yesterday at Clare Pedigree Sheep & Cattle. Although I may have got a little carried away as you can probably tell…
I’m sure Portia Jane Brown would agree that you can never have too many photos of sheep though!
