🚨 HEAT STROKE IS DEADLY 🚨
Tomorrow is set to be an extremely hot day☀️. We have taken precautions at the centre and have decided to rearrange late afternoon appointments and open extra early instead! 🌅⏰
As temperatures rise, our pets are at serious risk of heat stroke. Please please don’t walk them in the heat!! The amount of dogs we’ve seen out and about in this heat this week is saddening to see, why would you risk your friend’s life for the sake of a walk?😢
🔥 Never walk your dog in extreme heat.
👉 Hot pavement can burn paws in seconds.
👉 Dogs can’t regulate heat like we can — they overheat quickly.
🚗 NEVER leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures can soar to fatal levels in moments.
🐾 At highest risk:
- Puppies & senior dogs
- Dogs with health conditions (heart disease, breathing issues, etc.)
- Brachycephalic breeds (like bulldogs, pugs)
- Overweight dogs
⸻
SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE IN DOGS:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Weakness or collapse
• Bright red or pale gums
• Confusion or seizures
⸻
⚠️ What to do if your dog shows signs of heat stroke:
1. Move them to a cool, shaded area immediately
2. Offer them water to drink
3. Cool them with COLD water
4. Get to a vet ASAP — heat stroke can be fatal
⸻
💛 Keep walks early morning or evening, always carry water, and know the signs. Your dog depends on you to stay safe.
