We’ve recently welcomed Ruby, the sweetest soul, to Aqua Paws! 💙

She’s joined us for support with osteoarthritis, and we were thrilled to see how quickly she took to the water, she absolutely loved her first session! 🐾

We can’t wait to see her again and continue helping her feel her very best.

The CEO and little apprentice🥰☀️ Thank you to those who were happy to rearrange appointments later today. We are sorry for cancelling but it is just far too hot for the puppers 🐶☀️ despite being in the pool or treadmill it is still too warm for them (despite our air con!) to be exercising. Their safety and welfare is our priority so we appreciate your understanding and allowing us to rearrange sessions. 💙

Stay cool 😎 ☀️

⚠️☀️ With temperatures hitting 28°C and above, we’re adjusting our hours to keep your dogs safe and happy!

During hot spells, Aqua Paws will be open for early morning and evening sessions only, closing during the peak heat of the day when it’s hottest. Your dog’s safety and welfare is always our top priority 💙

Here’s Twiglet enjoying her session first thing this morning while it was still nice and cool!

Stay safe 🐾

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK🐾💙

This week the swimmer of the week is …Dizzy🤩!! Dizzy has been attending regular hydrotherapy for sometime now to help her maintain good muscle mass and joint range of motion after being diagnosed with osteoarthritis and a previous cruciate injury.

Dizzy lacks confidence and hasn’t always been a confident swimmer however recently this senior lady has shown us all that you can do anything with practice and a positive and gentle approach🧡. Dizzy walks into her sessions with a little sparkle in her eyes now, tail wagging and just oozing with confidence. 🌟She has also started coming off the platform by herself which is just amazing that she is choosing to do something she was once a little unsure of.

We can’t forget to give a special mention to Fiona at Colchester Canine Massage. She has helped Dizzy so much not only with myofascial release which helps to improve her joint range of motion in the pool but these massages have also helped give her an endorphin boost she needed to help her feel confident in herself! 🤩

What a team 🙌 and what a girl you are Dizzy!! So so proud of you🥰🤩🐾🧡💙

🔑 💙One year ago today I got the keys for the unit and work started on setting up Aqua Paws🧡🔑

I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since I picked up the keys with my mum and Scooby for the unit to start the huge task of setting up Aqua Paws with the help of my wonderful dad! I was due to buy a house and move in with my wonderful partner Marcus but life is short and when opportunities come up you’ve got to take them! 💙

I feel so incredibly lucky for all of your support throughout this journey so far and so grateful to spend my day with such amazing souls🐶. Now working alongside two great friends Anna and Katie, I can’t thank them both enough for their endless support and helping make Aqua Paws a wonderful place for all the dogs that come to visit us, you’re both amazing❤️

If your dog comes to Aqua Paws please feel free to leave a review on Facebook or Google it would mean the world! 🐾🐶💙

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my small business.🧡

This is Crumble, who comes to us for support with her osteoarthritis. Her mum recently told us "she’s moving well, bright, and definitely looking forward to her next visit to the magic waters!" We love nothing more than helping your dogs live their best lives 💙

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK🐾💙

This week the swimmer of the week is …Bella🤩!! Bella, has been visiting us for rehab on the underwater treadmill following a surgery for a rupture cruciate earlier this year.

She’s built up so much confidence in the water (with the help of squeezy cheese 🧀) and has really found her rhythm during her sessions 🐕

She’s come such a long way, and we’re so proud of her progress. We’re excited to continue supporting her on this journey! 💙

Well done, Bella! See you soon lovely girl💛

🚨 HEAT STROKE IS DEADLY 🚨

Tomorrow is set to be an extremely hot day☀️. We have taken precautions at the centre and have decided to rearrange late afternoon appointments and open extra early instead! 🌅⏰

As temperatures rise, our pets are at serious risk of heat stroke. Please please don’t walk them in the heat!! The amount of dogs we’ve seen out and about in this heat this week is saddening to see, why would you risk your friend’s life for the sake of a walk?😢

🔥 Never walk your dog in extreme heat.
👉 Hot pavement can burn paws in seconds.
👉 Dogs can’t regulate heat like we can — they overheat quickly.

🚗 NEVER leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes. Temperatures can soar to fatal levels in moments.

🐾 At highest risk:
- Puppies & senior dogs
- Dogs with health conditions (heart disease, breathing issues, etc.)
- Brachycephalic breeds (like bulldogs, pugs)
- Overweight dogs

SIGNS OF HEAT STROKE IN DOGS:
• Excessive panting or drooling
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Weakness or collapse
• Bright red or pale gums
• Confusion or seizures

⚠️ What to do if your dog shows signs of heat stroke:
1. Move them to a cool, shaded area immediately
2. Offer them water to drink
3. Cool them with COLD water
4. Get to a vet ASAP — heat stroke can be fatal

💛 Keep walks early morning or evening, always carry water, and know the signs. Your dog depends on you to stay safe.

This week we welcomed Ollie, a retired Essex police dog who has worked hard for most of his life helping to keep people safe, now it’s our turn to look after him 👮💙 We’ll be supporting him with his hip dysplasia and spondylosis, helping to improve his mobility and reduce discomfort. It’s an honour to work with such a brave dog, and we can’t wait to see him again!

SWIMMER OF THE WEEK🐾💙

This week the swimmer of the week is …Mayhem🤩!! 🌟 Mayhem, has been visiting us to help manage her back pain. We began with confidence-building sessions to help her feel comfortable in the environment, and after just two sessions, she absolutely smashed it, stepping into the underwater treadmill like a pro!

Mayhem now looks forward to her sessions and even tries to hop back in when we’ve finished! Her progress has been incredible, and it’s all been supported by her amazing and encouraging mum.

At 13 years young, Mayhem is now enjoying weekly treatment and is truly thriving. She’s a brilliant example of how, with patience and the right support, dogs can quickly grow in confidence and embrace new therapies.

Well done, Mayhem! See you soon lovely girl! 💜
(And yes - that’s cheese on her chin!)🥰🤩🐾🧡💙
